DEET is a powerful insect repellent found in bug sprays used by millions of people in the U.S.
every year. Most health incidents involving the chemical are minor, according to the EPA, such as skin, eye or respiratory irritation like rashes, watery eyes or wheezing. But still, there's widespread concern that DEET might be potentially toxic or cause cancer.
