Early morning frost covered the woods as the hounds and I walked through the silence.
The deer leaps out of the woods and the heartbeat instantly accelerates. Using my old 30-06 rifle, this hit instantly quiets the forest floor. Location: a national forest in Colorado, temperature about 0°C. The hound, Blackie, has little experience, but keeps his composure when it counts. Do you have any stories of your first collaborative hunt with a hound? Feel free to leave a comment and share!
