The Chartreuse Chamois is a mountain game that lives in the Chartreuse Massif, in the south-east of France.
It is the biggest chamois with male adults being around 50-55 kg in weight. With shorter legs than the Alpine Chamois, its coat is also lighter, sometimes with hints of grey or reddish-brown. It also has a small bump on his nose and a fine white line upon his chest (more or less distinctive). The horns are more open and curved but shorter than the Alpine Chamois’. Stalking is the only method of hunting Chamois.
