We don't usually think of moose hunting as the kind of hunting when we need to do a lot of glassing.
While standing in a good spot and calling can be successful, my favoured approach is to use optics to locate bulls. Once I have identified a good one, I plan a stalk and get close enough to begin calling. You can see in these images how the team was all glassing. We knew there was a bull out there, but the terrain provided a lot of cover and it wasn't easy to locate him. Once we located him and his cows, we took our bearings and crossed the lake to stalk. Within a short time, we had our bull down. #BBD (big bull down).
