Fox and Spring In early spring, foxes in the UK exhibit specific behaviors driven by the need to care for their young and adapt to changing environmental conditions. Here’s an overview of how foxes behave during this time: --- 1. Breeding and Den Preparation - Mating Season: Foxes typically mate between December and February, so by early spring (March to April), vixens (female foxes) are either pregnant or have recently given birth. - Denning Behavior: Vixens prepare dens (also called earths) where they will give birth and raise their cubs. These dens are often located in woodland areas, hedgerows, or even under garden sheds in urban settings. Foxes may use multiple dens and rotate them to avoid detection by predators. 2. Birth and Care of Cubs - Cub Birth: In early spring, fox cubs are usually born after a gestation period of about 52 days. A typical litter consists of 4–6 cubs, though this can vary depending on food availability and the health of the vixen. - Maternal Care: The

Why did the Americans try to destroy the bison population? The near-destruction of the American bison (or buffalo) population in the 19th century was not an accidental or random event but rather a deliberate and systematic effort driven by multiple factors, many of which were tied to the U.S. government's broader policies toward Native Americans. The bison were central to the lives, cultures, and economies of many Plains Indigenous tribes, and their destruction was seen as a way to weaken Native resistance and force assimilation into Euro-American society. Key Reasons for the Destruction of the Bison: 1. Undermining Native American Resistance: - The bison were essential to the survival and way of life for many Plains tribes, including the Lakota, Cheyenne, Comanche, and others. These tribes relied on bison for food, clothing, shelter, tools, and spiritual practices. - By destroying the bison herds, the U.S. government and settlers sought to undermine the ability of Native Amer

Review of Tikka T3x CTR 6.5 Creedmoor As an avid hunter with several years of experience, I've had the opportunity to use a variety of rifles in different hunting environments. The Tikka T3x CTR in 6.5 Creedmoor is a model that has garnered considerable attention in the hunting community, and I recently decided to give it a thorough evaluation during my outings.

Due to the lack of electronic control and easy-to-fix nature, the Land Rover has performed well in environments where workshop backup would be unavailable. Repairs can also be carried out with limited resources and limited parts. The Land Rover Wolf was introduced to the Army in 1998 and is still in use today. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/EN2TEpeRhawYaRpv/?mibextid=K35XfP This is splendid news for all Land Rover Defender and Series owners, and for several compelling reasons: 1. The fact that the British Ministry of Defence has chosen to retain these vehicles not only bestows them with prestige but also ensures the continuity of supply chains for parts. And as allo you know, a lot of parts are comoatible with Series too. 2. From an environmental perspective, this is also excellent news. Many of us contend that extending the lifespan of a machine optimises resources and ultimately conserves them. We do not subscribe to the notion that scrapping perfectly functional vehicles to

Set #2 of the FLYING pika! (Please view each image large for details) One of my absolute favorite and most challenging subjects to photograph........the mighty American Pika. These tiny critters the size of a guinea pig, are the speediest and hardest working animals in the alpine zone of the mountains. They are Lagomorphs and closely related to rabbits. They spend most of their days gathering tundra grasses and wildflowers to store in their winter food stashes to be able to survive the cold harsh mountain winters. I spend numerous days and hours each summer up high in the Rocky mountains of Colorado, observing and trying to photograph these little speedsters. Here is the second set of photos. All images captured with a Nikon Z8 and Nikkor 800mm F6.3 lens, some with a 1.4x teleconverter for focal length of 1120mm. Most are captured with a shutter speed of 1/4000 sec, F7.1 or F8, various ISO's up to 20,0000, handheld and cropped.
