Henry Rimfire Lever Action It can be a challenge to find products made entirely in the U.S. these days but Henry prides itself in that fact. Among its wide variety of lever-action rifles, the rimfire models stand out. These are guns for the entire family that can be used to teach safe and responsible use as well as put meat on the table. Over 1 million Henry .22s have been sold, which is a testament to their quality and reputation. Lever-action Henrys feed from a tubular magazine and are built with traditional walnut and blued steel. Light, handy and capable, this is a rifle that should probably be in everyone’s collection.Post: 3 October 10:28

Hundreds of species of #mammals, #birds, #fish, #reptiles, and #amphibians have been documented, including several that are either endangered or threatened. The vast forests and grasslands also include unique species of plants. Yellowstone Park is the largest and most famous #megafauna location in the contiguous United States. #Grizzly bears, #cougars, #wolves, and free-ranging #herds of bison and #elk live in this park. The Yellowstone Park bison herd is the oldest and largest public bison herd in the United States. Forest fires occur in the park each year; in the large forest fires of 1988, nearly one-third of the park was burnt. Yellowstone has numerous recreational opportunities, including hiking, camping, boating, fishing, and sightseeing. Paved roads provide close access to the major geothermal areas as well as some of the lakes and waterfalls. During the winter, visitors often access the park by way of guided tours that use either snow coaches or snowmobiles.Post: 20 September 09:17

Hunting plays a vital role in controlling wildlife populations, especially in areas where natural predators are absent. Overpopulation of certain species can lead to ecological imbalances, crop damage, and increased spread of diseases.Post: 22 August 17:25
Here are five lesser-known facts about Toyota: 1. **Origins in Textiles**: Toyota originally started as a textile company. Kiichiro Toyoda founded the Toyota Motor Corporation in 1937 as a spinoff from his father Sakichi Toyoda's company, which was known for its automatic looms. The Toyoda Automatic Loom Works' success provided the initial capital and technical expertise to enter the automotive industry. 2. **First Production Car**: Toyota's first production car was the Model AA, introduced in 1936. It was heavily inspired by American car designs of the time, particularly the Chrysler Airflow. Despite initial challenges, the Model AA set the foundation for Toyota's future success in the automotive industry. 3. **Environmental Leadership**: Toyota is a pioneer in hybrid technology. The Toyota Prius, introduced in 1997, was the world’s first mass-produced hybrid car. It revolutionized the auto industry by combining a gasoline engine with an electric motor, significantly improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions. 4. **Global Production Network**: Toyota has one of the most extensive global production networks in the automotive industry. The company operates over 50 manufacturing plants in 28 countries, producing vehicles tailored to meet the needs and preferences of local markets. This global footprint has been key to Toyota’s status as one of the world's largest automakers. 5. **Commitment to Innovation**: Toyota has a strong commitment to continuous improvement, a philosophy known as "Kaizen." This principle drives the company to constantly refine its processes, products, and technologies. One notable example is the Toyota Production System (TPS), a highly efficient manufacturing methodology that has been widely adopted across various industries and is considered a benchmark for operational excellence. #ford #jdm #Toyota #car #offroad #familycar #Wrangler #4x4offroadPost: 20 August 09:44

Post: 2 February 17:49

How We Tested the Best Spotting Scopes We invite manufacturers to submit any new spotting scopes introduced from mid-2022 through 2023. Because this particular category of sports optics is expensive to manufacture, and because the market isn’t nearly as dynamic as rifle scopes or binoculars—after all, once you’ve purchased a spotting scope, you’re unlikely to be in the market for another—we test spotters only every two or three years. Low-Light Performance We also measure the low-light performance of each submission by mounting them to tripods and focusing them at 200 yards at a black-and-white resolution target at twilight, all in order to measure the brightness of the glass. The scope that can “see” the longest into the gathering darkness gets top marks. The scope that loses its night-vision earliest gets the lowest score. Scopes in the middle receive scores somewhere between those two poles. How We Score and Grade Optics We break our 10-point scoring into four general categories: optical performance, mechanical performance, design, and value. The average of these categories is the basis of our grades, detailed below. Optical performance includes the resolution and low-light tests plus the more subjective assessments of image quality and brightness. Mechanical performance assesses the durability of the submission along with its controls: focus and zoom, eyecups and barrel rotation. Design considers the exterior finish, interior blacking, tripod mount, and its innovation and versatility along with its comfort. We ask testers to evaluate this critical question: how long could you glass with this spotter? And then our price/value score rates how much optic—along with warranty and amenities such as carrying case, additional eyepieces, or field cover—you’re getting for your money. The spotter that gets the highest overall score wins our Editor’s Choice award for the best in the category; the optic with the highest price/value score wins our Great Buy recognition. Grading Our 10-point evaluation adds up to a total numeric score, but we translate those to grades for each submission. Our Optical Performance grade combines the scores from resolution, low-light, image, and brightness. Our Mechanical Performance grade aggregates the mechanics and durability score. The Design grade considers Construction, Innovation, Versatility, and Comfort. And then the Price/Value grade is our value grade. To earn an “Excellent” grade, the average of that category must be 9 or higher, which is extremely hard to achieve. “Very Good” is an average score of 7 to 9. A “Good” grade is 5 to 7. Our “Fair” grade is 3 to 25, and “Poor” is anything under 3.Post: 29 January 17:50
