HUNT Hunt (Canis lupus) on maailma suurim metsik koerlane ja Eesti metsade kõige kardetuim kiskja. Hunt kaalub keskmiselt 35-45 kg, suur isaloom võib kaaluda isegi kuni 80 kg. Karvastiku värvus on enamasti hall, kuid võib veidi varieeruda. Seljakarvad on musta tipuga, seega näib seljaosa tumedam.

Dnes patří Křivoklát státu, probíhají v něm restaurátorské práce a archeologický výzkum.Post: 14 July 09:38
How to extend the life of your weapon Weapons care products include: various ramrods, brushes, flexible snakes, tools for covering wooden parts of guns, gun oils, plugs for barrels, etc. Remember that weapons must be handled very carefully. You always have to suspect that it can fire on its own. Before you start cleaning it, and before you perform any actions with a weapon, make sure that there are no cartridges in the magazine and in the barrel! This rule sounds paradoxical, but nevertheless, only with strict observance of it, the hunter can be calm that he will not cause a catastrophe. It should not be forgotten that careless handling of a gun is dangerous not so much for the owner of the gun himself, but for others.Post: 5 July 09:06

Horses are like people; there are good, bad, and indifferent among them. Some are kind and generous; others are bad-tempered and better left alone. The best have kind hearts and intelligent minds, along with a full measure of common sense. Add good treatment and training, and you have an admirable ally that can make otherwise impossible adventures doable. Better yet, you’ll have a friend.Post: 26 May 19:42
HOLY ELK! Look what we found at the Kilkenny Castle in Ireland. They are REAL antlers from a prehistoric Irish elk! AND (according to our guide) they are mounted on the wall at their actual height! They are the largest deer that ever lived, and went extinct between 8,000 and 6,000 years ago. They earned the name Irish elk because so many bodies were preserved in Irish peat bogs. These massive ungulates weighed between weighed 990-1,520 pounds and stood as tall as an Alaskan moose at 6 feet 11 inches at the shoulders! The size of their antlers was utterly staggering. In fact, that is very likely the cause of their extinction. Many agree that their huge antler size may have contributed to a mineral deficiency which ultimately killed the animal off. So at least it wasn’t humans! Post: 5 May 19:08

Hunting with my son is something I have wanted to do since he first opened his eyes. Our second hunt was on an exciting fly-in hunt where my father was the hunter. While he didn't finish the hunt smiling as hard as you see here, I know he had the deep satisfaction all mountain hunters crave after working their tails off in pursuit of adventure.Post: 19 April 09:53

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like). https://www.lipsum.com/ What is Lorem Ipsum? Hunting Up Above the Clouds It is the view of many hunters that mountain hunts are the ultimate expression of hunting. Here you will be challenged at all levels. Physically, mentally, technically. with many long distance shots, and in your understanding of game behavior. At the same time it is difficult not to be smitten by the magic of the mountains and their wild beauty. Mountaineers often say that they become physically addicted to the mountains, something most mountain hunters wholeheartedly agree with. It is also up in the mountains that you can find many of the most sought after trophies win the world; Marco Polo-Sheep, Dall Sheep/Stone Sheep, Snow Sheep, Blue Sheep, Mountain Goats perhaps the mighty Markhor or one of the many sub species of Ibex; Asiatic, European and Spanish. One thing that most of these species have in common is that they live in some of the most isolated parts of the planet, such as Kyrgyzstan, Alaska, Canada, Tajikistan or even the Himalaya. Mountain hunting often take the character of a pure expedition, which is in itself an experience you only enjoy a few times in your life.Post: 29 December 17:11
House OKs bill meant to help owners keep guns in emergencies COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio House lawmakers have advanced a proposal meant to ensure that gun owners’ lawfully held firearms and ammunition aren’t seized by the government during natural disasters, public health crises or other declared emergencies. The bill that cleared the Republican-led House on Thursday also would deem certain firearms businesses “essential” during those emergencies, temporarily extend concealed carry licenses that would expire during an emergency and keep government entities from stopping lawful hunting or fishing practices during declared emergencies. GOP Sen. Tim Schaffer of Lancaster, who sponsored the bill, has said it does not add new gun rights but clarifies that gun owners “cannot have their rights taken away.” Supporters say it would help protect self-defense for law-abiding gun owners. Democrats opposing the measure say it would hinder local governments from best protecting their residents during an emergency, and possibly violate Ohio’s home rule provision of the state constitution by limiting how they handle emergency situations. Opponents also criticize another provision in the legislation that would allow law enforcement officers dealing with a “riot or mob” to cordon off any areas threatened by that group. They say that could create unsafe environments for peaceful protesters interacting with police or facing counter-protesters.Post: 14 December 18:48
HUNTING DOG BREEDS: WHICH DOG TO CHOOSE FOR HUNTING A brief overview of the main hunting dog breeds will be useful to novice hunters when choosing dogs for hunting. Different hunting dog breeds have their own specialization. For example, with hounds and greyhounds, hunting dogs mainly hunt hare and fox. On the hunt for fur-bearing animals, burrows are mined - dachshunds and fox terriers, as well as greyhounds, hounds and huskies. When hunting for an elk, a wild boar or a bear, a husky will be good. Duck hunting will be successful with cops. Read on to find out which dog to choose for hunting. Which dog to choose for hunting What could be more disturbing than walking through the autumn forest with a dog and a gun in search of game. And even if the trophy does not meet, the pleasure of unity with nature will be received. Of course, hunting is indispensable without dogs. But first of all, how do you choose the breed of hunting dogs, especially what kind of animal do you propose to hunt. Hunting dogs - burrowing Dachshunds and fox terriers can easily cope with foxes, raccoon dogs or badgers, which easily penetrate holes and pull the beast out of there. Also, dachshunds no older than spaniels chase white hares, work on black grouse and increase ducks with water. The height at the withers is the same as that of the Wire Fox Terrier. The outer hair is thick, hard, straight, dense, 2-3 cm long on the neck and trunk. There is an undercoat that becomes thicker when dogs are kept on dry land. The head is long, dry, wedge-shaped. The ears are the same as those of the long-haired fox terrier. How to Can Deer Meat Tools and Ingredients: Pressure canner Quart jars, rings, and lids Venison Garlic Non-iodized salt Black pepper Directions: Trim up meat so that the majority of fat and tendons are removed. Cube the meat into pieces that are about the size of a golf ball. “Cold pack” the raw meat into the quart jar, leaving about 1 inch of headspace. Use a spoon to tightly pack in the meat. Don’t add any liquid, as the meat will create natural juices during the canning process. Put 1 teaspoon of non-iodized salt, ¼ teaspoon of black pepper, and two cloves of garlic on top of the meat. Adding a few slices of green pepper or onion is optional, and note that a little bit of flavor while canning will go a long way. Place on lid and screw on ring. Put your jars in the canner. Follow the directions that are specific to your pressure canner, which will suggest something like adding three quarts of water, and canning for 90 minutes at 15 pounds of pressure. It’s important that you know your canner, though.Post: 25 November 18:21
Hunting With Dogs: Training & Safety Tips Hunting with your dog is an exhilarating way to experience outdoor life with your furred friend. Dogs have been hunting with humans for millennia. Many hunting breeds were actually developed specifically to find, flush out, or retrieve game. But that doesn’t mean that your dog will automatically know what to do on a hunt. Before you head out in search of game with your canine companion, you’ll need to train your dog. Aside from helping you find and retrieve the quarry you’re after, dogs also must become used to loud sounds like gunshots. You’ll also need to bring along the proper hunting gear necessary to keep your dog safe and satisfied in the field. Get Your Dog Used To Gunshots Gunshots are loud and can spook your dog into running off in the middle of a hunt. That’s why gun training is so important. Cara Harper is an expert in the field who regularly hunts with her Labrador Retrievers, Nita and Rou. Harper and her husband trained their pups by running ran retriever drills for the dogs, tossing a decoy “bumper” for the dogs to fetch while one of them fired a gun 100 yards away to start with. “The shooter fires a shot as the dog leaves to make a retrieve. With each retrieve, the shooter eases closer from behind the handler and dog,” says Harper. Reward your dog as they slowly get used to the shots. The process continues gradually until the gunner is eventually right beside the dog when shooting. Train Your Dog To Help Locate Game “Obedience is the keystone that all other training is built off,” affirms Harper. “If a dog won’t do a sit/stay for a short period of time on a stand, then there is no way that they’ll have the control to sit through an exciting duck hunt.” Trainer Barton Ramsey recommends starting obedience training at eight weeks of age and retrieval training at six to seven months old. This allows the dog to have the necessary skills and physical ability to handle more demanding tasks. When teaching dogs to find and flush out game, Harper suggests running quartering drills regularly. Quartering drills teach your dog to run back and forth in a zigzag pattern ahead of you. This allows them to locate more game than walking in a straight line. You can set up bumpers to guide your dog in this pattern, and use slight arm movements to help guide your dog. After the dog approaches each bumper, praise or treat your pup. Train Your Dog To Retrieve Game An excellent way to train your hunting dogs to retrieve game is to simulate a hunting scenario using decoys. Repeat the training on land and in water. This helps dogs get acclimated to different kinds of terrain. “We’ll have a bird boy one hundred or so yards out in a field, blow a duck call and catapult a bumper into the air so that the dog sees it fall,” says trainer Bob Owens. “The dog will then run out and bring back the bumper. Eventually, the dog learns to watch the sky for falling birds and to mark their location so that your dog knows where to find them for the retrieve.” Blind retrieve training is also critical. It allows you to guide a pooch to a fallen bird that the dog might not have seen fall. Though it requires diligent training to perfect, Harper suggests learning to guide your dog through a series of whistles and/or hand signals. Test Hunting Skills & Reinforce Training Before heading off to a hunt, see if your dog has what it takes to become a skilled hunting dog by participating in AKC Retriever Field Trials and hunting tests. Harper regularly participates in both with her dogs. Hunt tests help show you how well your dog will perform in the field. Field trials, meanwhile, let more experienced dogs show off their skills on the hunt. Plus, the events are geared towards the unique skills of different breeds including Pointers, Retrievers, and Spaniels. Owens and his dogs also regularly participate in both AKC events, as well as those of the Master National Retriever Club. Not only do these events ensure that his dogs are ready for the hunt, They also keep dogs active and in-shape during the off-season. Pack Proper Hunting Supplies While on the hunt, you’ll need to bring along some gear to keep your furry friend comfortable and safe. Jennifer Danella regularly hunts with her Labrador Retriever L.K. and Beagles, Remington and Beretta. Supplies can vary according to the type of hunt, however. “Any hunt I bring my dogs on, I have a first-aid kit filled with bandaging material, wound care items, and other emergency supplies,” says Danella. “For waterfowl hunting, my retriever L.K. wears a buoyant vest. She has her own hunting blind and elevated stand to stay warm and safe in the elements.” Melissa Bachman hunts alongside her dog Pork Chop and brings plenty of supplies to keep her well-fed and hydrated. She avoids any stinky dog issues by toting along some cleaning supplies to give her a bath in the field. Beyond basic utilities, don’t forget to adorn your pups with an easily-seen orange safety vest. That way, other hunters can easily spot them. “I always bring water and food dishes, a toy, and treats to keep in my pocket,” says Bachman. “When we hunt out west, I bring along extra water bottles and a travel-size bottle of dog shampoo. Pork Chop likes to find fresh cow pies and roll in them.” Whether you hunt regularly with your dogs or simply want to participate in some fun sporting events that focus on your dog’s natural hunting abilities, consider checking out AKC performance sports. You’ll find lots of upcoming events to choose from so you can find one that’s right for your dog.Post: 24 November 17:47
