Nebraska woman gets marriage proposal after killing big buck on hunting trip A Nebraska woman bagged a marriage proposal earlier this month along with a big buck during a recent deer hunting trip. It was the most successful hunting trip ever for a Nebraska woman who bagged a marriage proposal shortly after killing a big buck. Earlier this month, while on a hunting trip south of Lincoln, Samantha Camenzind’s boyfriend not only gave her the first shot at the deer they had spotted on a trail, but he surprised her by popping the question in the middle of a photo shoot with the prized trophy buck. The couple tells local media outlets that in their three years of dating, one of the things the couple bonded over is their shared love of hunting. They even process and eat the meat of what they hunt and kill. WEDDING DRAMA PITS SISTERS AGAINST EACH OTHER AS BRIDE WANTS 'CHILD-FREE' EVENT, THE OTHER WANTS HER SON THERE Cole Bures, the groom-to-be, told Camenzind that he wanted a profess

This is a close up shot from my living room window in Ancient Olympia, Greece. I have a five month old daughter who adores birds and looking at them got me pondering. Most of them are migratory birds and I am about to embark on a similar move. This is not my hometown, I moved here two and a half years ago, this was essentially the first place I rented. I came here single and in a matter of two months I got married and a year later I got pregnant. A number of adversities have come my way, the harshest of which is my current state of unemployment. We have decided to move to a place far away from here, to my grandmother's place. It's a small cottage but it will be our home by the sea on a Greek island. I wish I could let those birds know where we are moving so they can visit and have a rest. Inner peace and love to everyone

ORANGE IS A NEW BLACK Stay safe when hunting by following these tips: -Check weather reports before embarking on a hunting trip. -Tell someone where you will be hunting and when you will return. -Be familiar with the area you want to hunt. Bring a map and compass. -Carry a basic survival kit and be prepared for an unexpected overnight stay in the field. The survival kit should contain a rope, a knife, water, waterproof matches, an emergency shelter, and first aid supplies. -Dress properly and be prepared for the worst possible conditions. -Wear hunter orange as your outermost gear so that you are visible to other hunters. Do not wear white or tan during deer season. -Always treat your weapon as if it is loaded, even if it isn't, and know where your hunter partners are located at all times. -If accompanied by a dog, the dog should also wear hunter orange or a very visible color on a vest, leash, coat or bandana. Check the state regulations to determine if a dog is allowed on a hunt. -

Air Rifles Continue Hunting’s Quiet Revolution I’ll never forget my first morning deer hunting on public land near my childhood home in southern Wisconsin, a state with more than 600,000 deer hunters. For nine days a year, the state could field the world’s seventh largest army. Since hunters are required to wear blaze orange during the gun deer season, come November the Wisconsin woods and fields take on the look of a never-ending pumpkin patch—a loud one at that. As I sat in a makeshift stand consisting of a board wedged between two branches about 15 feet off the ground, dawn brought a nearly steady barrage of rifle reports on the order of an Antietam reenactment. Until that time, I had no idea whitetail deer could run that fast. A blast from a .30-30, .270, or .30-06 (all common calibers used for deer hunting) will carry for miles, like gunpowder-induced thunder. The notion of a quiet morning communing with nature in the deer woods was, instead, something more akin to a day at the

Do cloned pets actually look and act like the original? Cloning may sound like something out of a science fiction movie, but it’s already happening here in the United States. One company has the patented technology to clone cats, dogs and horses, and will do it for you right now – for a price. Viagen charges $35,000 to clone a cat. Cloning a dog will set you back $50,000, and a horse is $85,000. That’s clearly a huge investment. What exactly do you get for your money? First, Viagen needs a skin sample from a pet that’s either still alive, or just recently died. A lot of people turn to the company right after their pet dies, said spokesperson Melain Rodriguez, and it’s possible to do successfully if the death was within a few days ago and the body has been kept refrigerated. Then starts the real science. The sample is shipped to the company’s lab in Texas, where cells from the skin are cultured. It takes a few weeks for those cells to grow and multiply until there are about 1 milli

Lever-action rifles may seem antiquated, but for some folks, they offer a great combination of hunting aptitude and self-defense effectiveness. The X Model from Henry takes their proven action and adds a bit of a tactical flair with synthetic furniture, a short rail at the end of the fore-end, and a threaded muzzle. Muzzle brakes or a suppressor can be easily added, and even for a camp rifle, being able to easily attach a light is a well-thought-out attribute. It’s a short, handy rifle that can be operated quickly and maneuvered well in tight spaces and cycled very quickly. Your caliber selection will depend on your needs. If you’re dealing with lots of bears as well as two-legged threats, the .45-70 will be the way to go. Otherwise, the .357 or .44 mag options offer plenty of power for hunting deer, and offer increased magazine capacity. Not to mention that the increased barrel length will give you better performance than a handgun will, with mild to little recoil. MSRP: $970

Raffaello A.I. BE.S.T. Limited Edition: Where Art Meets Ballistics In the world of fine firearms, few creations blend engineering excellence and artistic mastery like the Benelli Raffaello A.I. Limited to just 1,500 numbered pieces, it stands as a collector’s dream and a hunter’s companion. 🎨 Aesthetic Craftsmanship: Every Line Tells a Story The receiver is adorned with Renaissance-inspired floral scrolls, framing gold-inlaid hunting scenes. Two hunters. Photo of 1911 Petersburg. Russian poet and writer Alexander Ivanovich Kuprin and Fyodor Ivanovich Chaliapin, a brilliant Russian opera singer. Kuprin's literary legacy, dedicated to the theme of hunting, is a precious part of the Russian hunting classics. Hunting was one of Alexander Kupruns hobbies. Kuprin hunted a lot and often, but he was not a professional hunter at all. When experienced hunters, attracted in particular by his novel “Hunting Grouse”, met him on a hunt they were somewhat disappointed, calling him a simple amateur. Kuprin was not interested in hunting itself, but in the sensations during hunting, the flight of birds, the running of animals, and the experiences of hunters. As a real writer, he went country side not for hunt itself but for an inspiration. Fyodor Ivanovich Chaliapin was also not a professional hunter, but he was an incredibly enthusiastic hunter. Hunting was both a recreation and a pleasure for the artist. When hunting, he forgot about e

A hunter in the steppes of the Kazakh SSR. The 1950s. Traditional Hunting in the Steppes of the Kazakh SSR in the 1950s In the 1950s, the vast steppes of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic (Kazakh SSR) remained a land of open horizons, sweeping grasslands, and a deeply rooted nomadic heritage, despite the sweeping changes brought by Soviet modernization. Amid collectivization, industrialization, and the push toward urbanization, traditional hunting practices persisted—adapted, transformed, but not entirely extinguished—among the rural Kazakh population. Hunting in the Kazakh steppes during this era was not primarily a sport, as it might have been in the West, but a practical means of survival, a cultural tradition, and a way of maintaining a connection to ancestral ways in the face of rapid societal change. For many Kazakh families, especially in remote rural areas, hunting supplemented food supplies in a time of scarcity and limited access to markets. It also preserved a sense of

Dědictvím nabytý majetek prodal a všechny utržené peníze rozdal chudým a potřebným lidem. Ten prahl touhou laň sám ulovit a dokázat svým lovcům

New ‘snug,’ a snail with a too-small shell, described from Brunei rainforest A group of researchers and citizen-scientists have identified a new semi-slug species, Microparmarion sallehi, from the lowland rainforests of northern Borneo Island. Their study suggests there may be some half a dozen other species from the same genus waiting to be described, highlighting the rich biodiversity of this region. For this description, the local and international scientists involved students and laypersons in the team on a combined program of biodiversity training and exploration. The study authors note that scientific knowledge of Southeast Asian slugs in general is lacking due to low collection samples, meaning the prospects for describing a new species is high. Property Line Law and Ethics Legally, provided a hunter has secured permission from the neighboring landowner, he can hang one, five or 20 treestands across and near the line that separates your property. He can walk around or drive a UTV there as much as he wants. Heck, he can pop up a tent and make deer camp. Property law is simple: You stay on your side of the line, and I’ll stay on mine. But step a boot across the boundary line without permission, and that’s obviously trespassing. If you go over and tear down a treestand like my fuming buddy Steve suggested — and what many of you would want to do in a similar situation — you’ll pile on the misdemeanor of petty theft or destruction of property. Call a game warden? Please. A property line dispute between deer hunters is not as much a matter of law as it is a matter of ethics.
