🌿Wendigo🌿 This piece was a custom commission requested by a client. A wendigo is a mythical creature that lurks in the forest preying on victims to turn cannibalistic. I portrayed a softer version using a whitetail deer mount, whitetail deer skull, faux moss and foliage, faux Venus Fly traps, and real preserved Emperor Scorpions. My inspiration for this piece came from the movie “Annihilation”, images online of Wendigo art depictions, and the lovely artist Dark Fern Creations that creates similar pieces 🌿✨

You can Texas-rig your plastics when fishing around brush or heavy cover but, again, stay with a fairly light hook. The VMC WM worm hook is a good one. In any case, always tie your hook with a Palomar knot. Not only does this make for a strong union, but the Palomar knot allows the hook to stand straight out on the line, which is essential to rigging a drop-shot. Also, when tying, use an extra bit of line so that you have a big tag end, which you’d normally clip off. But don't.

Daudas ūdenskritums atrodas uz ziemeļaustrumiem no Siguldas Daudas upes gultnes. Trešais lielākais ūdenskritums Latvijā. Augstums - 2,4 m, platums - 1,5 - 2,5 m. Dauda jeb Lākturu (augštecē saukta Jurbrenčupīte, Ķillupīte - lībiešu senais nosaukums) sākas Siguldas pagastā virs Vidzemes šosejas A2 un ir Gaujas kreisā krasta pieteka. Dauda plūst caur dziļu kanjona tipa glenu. Upes gultnē atrodas vairāki ūdenskritumi. Braucot pa ceļu, kas ved no Siguldas uz Nurmižiem, jāgriežas pa kreisi. Maza zīme norāda ceļu uz ūdenskritumu. Līdz ūdenskritumam jādodas kājām aptuveni puskilometrs. Lielākā daļa Daudas upes tecējuma ir iekļauta Gaujas Nacionālā parka Nurmižu gravas lieguma teritorijā, kuru zinātniski pētnieciskos nolūkos var apmeklēt tikai ar īpašu Dabas aizsardzības pārvaldes atļauju.

Zemgaļu koka pils vietā pils ir celta no 1335. līdz 1359. gadam. Pils bijusi apdzīvota līdz 1730. gadam. Dobeles senāko iedzīvotāju – zemgaļu – apmetne te atradusies jau 1000 gadus p.m.ē. Senās pilsētas ielokā bijusi uzcelta zemgaļu koka pils, kur bijis viens no seno zemgaļu administratīvajiem centriem. Pils vairākkārt minēta Atskaņu hronikā, stāstot par kaujām, kas 13. gadsimtā notika starp vietējiem iedzīvotājiem un vācu bruņiniekiem. US hunters catch and shoot dead gigantic 14-foot 'once-in-a-lifetime' alligator A 14-foot "once in a lifetime" alligator has been killed by hunters in the US. Two hunters shot dead the mighty kill - a male weighing an enormous 781lb (345kg) - in the swamps of Texas. In a celebratory Facebook post, Wildlife Management Area official James E Dauhtrey congratulated the hunters on their kill while detailing the beast's specifications.
