Хохлатая чернеть Хохлатая чернеть. Называется также чернеть, чернушка, белобок, травник и морская чернь. Довольно крупная и плотная утка, весящая от 700 до 1400 граммов. В оперении селезня преобладают черные с металлическим блеском тона. Бока и нижняя часть туловища, а также подбой крыльев чисто белые. Белый крап наблюдается и на кроющих перьях крыла. Клюв серовато-голубой, с черным ноготком. Лапы серые с черными перепонками, глаза желтые. На голове удлиненные перья образуют свисающий с затылка хохолок. У самки преобладают бурые тона различной яркости. Брюшная часть туловища белая, испещренная бурыми перьями. Вчера ходила с мужем на рыбалку. Муж рыбачил, а я вглядывалась в мир вокруг. Смотрела, как водомерки реактивно перемещаются по поверхности воды, словно конькобежцы на льду. Любовалась такими разными, но очень красивыми стрекозами с ажурными крыльями. Взаимодействовала с уточками. Вы бы видели как они смешно вперевалку побежали по воде стоило им намекнуть, что я готова их покормить! А ещё я увидела трогательную картину: заботливая мама утка стояла на берегу возле нескольких утят, которые спали и охраняла их сон.

Britská asociace pro střelbu a ochranu přírody (BASC) oznámila, že první tři legislativní změny významné pro chov spárkaté zvěře ve Skotsku vstoupily v platnost ke konci října. Došlo k tomu po konzultacích se skotskou vládou probíhajících od začátku roku 2023. První ze změn je, že od 21. října 2023 byla zrušena omezená doba lovu samců všech druhů jelenovitých (jelen evropský, daněk evropský, sika, srnec obecný). Znamená to, že jejich odstřel nyní ve Skotsku může probíhat po celý rok. Přestože BASC byla proti tomuto návrhu, uznává, že může odstranit určité překážky v managementu populací jelenovitých. BASC však i nadále prosazuje, aby v zimních měsících bylo prioritou dosažení plánovaného odstřelu holé zvěře. Cílem skotské vlády je snížit škody působené zvěří při obnově lesa a celková redukce stavů zvěře.
