A deer may have passed COVID-19 to a person, study suggests The virus is widely circulating in white-tailed deer. Until now, no humans are known to have been infected by deer. A white-tailed deer in Canada likely infected a human with coronavirus, according to new research. The case, reported in a preprint journal, would be the first known instance of a COVID-19 spillover from a white-tailed deer—a common species throughout North America—into another species. Previous work has shown that the virus is circulating widely in U.S. white-tailed deer populations. Before this latest report, however, the virus appeared to be very similar to that found in nearby humans, suggesting that the deer likely were sickened by us—not the other way around. Now, a team of 32 government and academic researchers in Canada has concluded in a new work posted in BioRxiv that in late 2021, more than a dozen white-tailed deer in Canada had been infected with coronavirus that had a constellation of “mutations

D I N O S A U R I am still in shock. This hunt was exceptionally meaningful to me and Dinosaur truly is a bull of a lifetime!! We were nearly 26 miles into the backcountry with the pack string. We had spent a lot of time behind the glass learning all of the bulls in the area. The old bull we had nicknamed Dinosaur, was one that stood out for his age, distinct bugle and incredible mass. He was an old warrior. The thought that I would be placing my hands on Dinosaur as my personal bull never crossed my mind. I would have been happy with any legal bull I was given the opportunity on. I was surrounded by some of my favorite people in the entire world and this hunt/bull/opportunity would have never been possible without them. Huge thank you to Josh and Laci Martolgio. As with any hunt, there were a lot of highs and lows. The story is one for the books and too long to share on here. I’ll try to get it written to share with you all at some point. But at the end of it all, this true

James Webb: Space telescope reveals 'incredible' Jupiter views The world's largest and most powerful space telescope has revealed unprecedented views of Jupiter. The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) took the pictures of the solar system's biggest planet in July. The images show auroras, giant storms, moons and rings surrounding Jupiter in detail that astronomers have described as "incredible". The infrared photographs were artificially coloured to make the features stand out. This is because infrared light is invisible to the human eye. "We've never seen Jupiter like this. It's all quite incredible," said planetary astronomer Imke de Pater, of the University of California, who played a key role in the project. "We hadn't really expected it to be this good, to be honest," she added. The $10bn (£8.5bn) JWST is an international mission led by the US space agency Nasa with its partners from the European Space Agency and the Canadian Space Agency. Nasa said that in the standalone
