Review of the ORSIS SE LR Hunter (Royal Jacanda) Rifle in .30-06 Springfield I recently had the opportunity to use the ORSIS SE LR Hunter (Royal Jacanda) rifle in .30-06 Springfield during a couple of hunts, and I wanted to share my thoughts on this impressive firearm. Pros: Precision and Accuracy ORSIS SE LR: One of the standout features of this rifle is its remarkable accuracy. Even with limited use, it consistently delivers tight groupings at various distances. I was genuinely impressed by how quickly I could achieve a point of aim, which is crucial for hunting scenarios. Aesthetic Appeal: The Royal Jacanda finish gives the ORSIS SE LR rifle an elegant look that stands out. The combination of functionality and aesthetics makes it a joy to handle. Review of the Browning BAR II Rifle: A Blend of Tradition and Performance As an avid hunter and shooting enthusiast, I recently had the opportunity to get my hands on the Browning BAR II rifle, and I must say, it was an experience that exceeded my expectations. The BAR II, or Browning Automatic Rifle II, is a semi-automatic rifle that has earned a solid reputation among firearm aficionados for its reliability, accuracy, and elegant design. Design and Build Quality The first thing that stands out about the Browning BAR II is its craftsmanship. 🏆2022 Guide of the Year: TYNE MCCAUGHEY!🤠 All of the award buckles every year are pretty cut and dry and require no thoughts, just a tape measure. However, the Guide of the Year buckle is a whole other story and it gets harder every year. We are so lucky and blessed to have such a solid core of amazing guides that it’s become torturous to pick just one stand out. After many hours of pillow talks, road trip talks, and head scratching, we feel very good choosing our great friend, Tyne McCaughey, for Guide of the Year. Tyne has proven his loyalty from the get-go. His tenacity as a hunter is unquestionable. His hunters all comment that he is like hunting with a buddy. “Tyne ain’t faking shit!”💪 His willingness to do whatever is needed in camp or the field to make the dream work does not go unnoticed. As tough and as old-school as Tyne is, I’ve been told by our younger assistants and trainee guides that Tyne has great patience in helping teach them all aspects of our profession.

A SIXTH SENSE? I returned to the same ranch the following autumn with my two sons with the intent of tagging a couple of those bucks. However, I had no intention of letting them shoot a buck as it ran to the sound of the landowner’s ATV. Even if I did, it wouldn’t have mattered. The deer didn’t come running, preferring instead to wait for the cover of darkness to come to the corn, despite that the ranch’s deer were rarely hunted. Do whitetails have innate ability to know when something poses a risk or when it doesn’t? There’s no way to tell, but it sure seems that way. As Salamone suggests, urban deer seem to know when a human in their woods is hunting them and when he isn’t. That’s why we need to take all the precautions we can, no matter where we hunt. It’s okay to relieve yourself under your treestand, but if you must drive an ATV, park it as far away from your stand as you can. And leave the cigarettes in your pocket until you kill a deer. The odor of smoke might not spook deer

Picking the Best Rifle and Caliber for Pig Hunting
Do you need a magnum setup or a fast-shooting semi-auto? Probably, your deer rifle will work just fine

Picking the Best Rifle and Caliber for Pig Hunting Do you need a magnum setup or a fast-shooting semi-auto? Probably, your deer rifle will work just fine Large wild pigs can move with a grace and silence that’s starkly at odds with their appearance. The boar that emerged from the thicket next to us did it without a sound, and he was comically large. My 7-year-old son, Anse, spotted him, and by the time he said something and I looked up, the pig was walking straight away from our box stand, headed to the feeder 60 yards away. “Look at the size of the nuts on that thing!” Anse whispered. Indeed, it appeared as if the pig was toting a pair of darkened, medium-sized cantaloupes. As the boar settled on the bait, I helped Anse steady his rifle, a bolt-action .300 Blackout, in the window frame of the box blind. It was early, maybe 4 p.m., when we snuck into the blind, and the Central Texas sun was still hot. I’d barely closed the bolt on the little rifle when a mix of 25 pigs—sows and shoat

Hunting in South Cameroon: Primeval Rainforests, Endangered Species, and Deep Cultural Ties in the Country’s Wildest and Most Biodiverse Region Immense forest blocks, secretive wildlife, and ecological treasure troves The South Region of Cameroon is a haven for tropical biodiversity, cloaked in vast expanses of evergreen rainforest, interspersed with rivers, swamps, and sacred groves. Bordering Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and the Republic of the Congo, this region forms part of the great Congo Basin — the second largest rainforest on Earth. Towering hardwood trees, dense understory, and constant humidity create an environment that’s both breathtakingly beautiful and difficult to navigate. The Dja Faunal Reserve, Campo Ma’an National Park, and the Nyong River basin are just a few of the natural landmarks that define the South’s untamed character. It is a region where nature still speaks louder than man. Forest heritage and the lifeblood of indigenous communities In the deep forests of

Can a fox hunt a squirrel? Yes, foxes can and do hunt squirrels as part of their natural behavior. Foxes are carnivorous predators, and squirrels can be a part of their diet, especially if they are available in the fox's habitat. However, hunting squirrels can be challenging for foxes because squirrels are agile and quick, both on the ground and in trees. Foxes typically rely on stealth, speed, and surprise to catch prey like squirrels. They may stalk or ambush them, using their keen senses to detect movement and sound. While squirrels are not a fox's primary prey (they often prefer smaller mammals like rodents), they will take the opportunity to hunt squirrels if the situation allows. In urban or suburban areas where foxes and squirrels coexist, this predator-prey relationship can still occur, though it might be less common due to human interference and other food sources available to foxes.

Pitons, St Lucia These two volcanic mountains are one of the most recognizable - not to mention beautiful features on this Caribbean island. Enjoy the Pitons from the pristine white sand beach at Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort. Coral reefs cover almost 60% of the site's marine area. A survey has revealed 168 species of finfish, 60 species of cnidaria, including corals, eight mollusks, 14 sponges, 11 echinoderms, 15 arthropods, and eight annelid worms. The dominant terrestrial vegetation is tropical moist forest grading to subtropical wet forest, with small areas of dry forest and wet elfin woodland on the summits. At least 148 plant species have been recorded on Gros Piton, 97 on Petit Piton, and the intervening ridge, among them eight rare tree species. The Gros Piton is home to some 27 bird species (five of them endemic), three indigenous rodents, one opossum, three bats, eight reptiles, and three amphibians.
