Taxidermy: Turning Your Kill into a Lasting Trophy Taxidermy isn't just stuffing an animal; it's an art and a science. It's about recreating a lifelike representation of your kill, preserving the memory of the hunt for years to come. Why Bother with Taxidermy? Respect: You put in the time, skill, and effort. A mount is a way to respect the animal and the hunt. Memories: It's a tangible reminder of the hunt: the stalk, the shot, the terrain. A mount brings those memories flooding back. Bragging Rights: Let's be honest, it's a conversation starter. A well-done mount is a testament to your skill as a hunter. Decoration: It adds a unique and rugged aesthetic to your cabin, man cave, or home. Choosing a Taxidermist: Don't Skimp This is where you can't afford to cut corners. A bad taxidermist can ruin a trophy. Here's what to look for: Experience: How long have they been in the game? Look for a taxidermist with years of experience. Spanish style Sometimes trophy hunters want to unwind on a hunt - without overcoming, overexertion and overload. We recommend you the most exciting hunt for 🐔partridge in Spain. 👏 Everyone will be able to shoot a lot and qualitatively, have fun with friends, relax - thereby getting an emotional charge for a long time! Traditionally in 🇪🇸 Spain, a hunt is carried out by driving. The beaters flush the partridges at some distance from the hunters and direct them to the line of shooters. Every day, 4-5 drives are organized with a break for lunch. On average, it is possible to get 500-800 birds per day. ℹ️ During the day, the hunters change places in the order determined by the drawing. Thus, everyone has the opportunity to try their hand both in the center of the line and on its edges. The hunter is joined at the position by assistants: a "cargador" who reloads the weapon, and a "secretario" who adjusts the direction of the shot and keeps count of the birds killed. Eskimos started using sunglasses more than a thousand years ago! Incredibly, but it’s a fact. We have already written recently that Inuit (Eskimos) invented some items that are now used by all of humanity. As for example, a waterproof fabric, an anorak jacket and a kayak boat. But there is something even more incredible! Everyone knows that on a sunny day, the bright sun makes your eyes blind. To hunt in bright, blinding light is simply impossible. Most of us use sunglasses in the south and we perceive them exclusively as an accessory for hot countries. But that's because only few of us have been to the north. And we can't even imagine how the sunlight intensifies after reflecting off the white snow. Long before us, Eskimos, according to one version, invented the first sunglasses. Of course, they did not have darkened glass… But they carved it out of bone or wood the likeness of modern glasses with thin slits for the eyes, capable of softening and limiting excessive light. Tiger Dog Hunter Is Released. Watch the video. An impressive video of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment releasing Amur tiger recently captured in the Khasansky district, which devoured a bunch of dogs there. Look how big he is, he's kicked his sides pretty well on the dogs. It was taken far away and released on the border of Khabarovsk and Primorsky Territories. Since the beginning of 2025, a large number of cases of Amur tiger attacks on domestic animals have been recorded in Primorsky Krai (Eastern Russia). Residents of some villages began to fear not only for their pets, but also for their lives. At the end of the year, attacks occurred almost every day. For a long time, the tiger went unpunished. Hunters could not be involved in the capture of the killer tiger. Amur tigers in Russia are under special protection, including under the personal protection of President Vladimir Putin.
Dozens of drunk grizzlies hit by trains for decades Drunk grizzly bears have been hit by trains near Glacier National Park in Montana for decades. Spilled grain mixed with moisture from snow and rain equal the perfect concoction to both lure bears and dull their senses. This unfortunate equation means that the bears are too slow to outrun the trains heading their way. Fatalities linked to the fermented grain have been tallied since 1980 with a total of 63 grizzly bears killed along the rail line that stretches over Marias Pass and the Great Bear Wilderness, according to the Cowboy State Daily. This year, three have been killed so far, and, in 2019, which was the worst year on record, eight grizzlies were killed by trains. While two grizzly populations roam the Lower 48, the ones being impacted by trains come from the Northern Continental Divide grizzly population. Chuck Neal, a retired federal ecologist, says the spilled grain “can be a tempting treat for bears” and that “with enougPost: 21 November 15:15
Sitka DIY: Doing Time in the Sitka Silver Mine Doing Time in the Sitka Silver Mine One of the definitions of the word “mine” is: a rich source of supply. In that regard, it seems that Alaska is a fish mine for many, with plentiful fish available to harvest and enjoy. Certain species are more plentiful than others. For example, Chinook salmon are the largest but least abundant of all salmon in North America. They are arguably the most desired by sport anglers. However, they’ve been at a period of low abundance for the past several years. Pink salmon are the smallest and most numerous. However, they’re the least desired. Perhaps it’s their size, or that their meat is not as rich or as deeply colored as other species. Coho salmon strike an interesting balance. They’re not as large as Chinook but are larger than pinks. Their fat content is not as high as a Chinook’s, but the meat is flavorful and richly colored. Coho are much more numerous than Chinook, but not as numerous as pinks. Coho Post: 2 November 20:19
Animal welfare organisations speak out against German outdoor cat ban Cat owners in the German town of Walldorf have been ordered this week to keep their pets indoors until the end of August to protect a rare bird during its breeding season. The decree is designed to help save the crested lark, which makes its nest on the ground and is therefore easy prey for feline hunters. The bird’s population in Western Europe has declined sharply in recent decades. Although it is listed as a species of least concern in Europe by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). "Among other things, the survival of the species depends on every single chick," authorities in Walldorf said. The rule applies to all cats in the southern part of the town and will be repeated for the next three years from April to August. Owners risk a fine of €500 if their cat is found roaming outside and could be slapped with a penalty of up to €50,000 if their pet injures or kills a crested lark. Post: 9 August 10:24

This five-mile loop trail is moderately difficult, and features some of the area’s most beautiful wildflowers. The trail really takes you into the heart of the rugged badlands, requiring some technical ability and even bushwhacking in the overgrowth.
