Beretta BRX1 Rifle in .30-06 Review As an avid hunter and firearms enthusiast, I recently had the opportunity to try out the Beretta BRX1 chambered in .30-06, and I'd like to share my thoughts on this versatile rifle. Beretta Pros: Build Quality: Right out of the box, the BRX1 impresses with its robust and high-quality construction. The materials used feel durable and reliable, and the overall design reflects Beretta's commitment to craftsmanship. Ergonomics: The rifle is well-balanced and fits comfortably in my hands. What do modern European hunters wear and what hunting techniques are popular? Rule of thumb is: if you're invited and your party consists of more than 2, leave camo at home or in moderation (ie. only a cap or a mask). While loden and waxed cotton remains popular, modern hunting clothing is made to be comfortable, quiet, sturdy, warm and prefferably tick-proof. As for hunting techniques. -Hunting from a blind is the preferred method. Either low near the ground for birds or in a treestand or elevated blind for larger game. -Driven hunt is a popular second. Takes more people, is more expensive, but very spectacular. The driven hunt comes in many varieties, and is subject to many rules, traditions and rituals which vary by region. -Walking flushing hunt is popular in the wide open agricultural areas as well. Requires good dogs. -Stalking has quite a following as well. Although recently, I've heard a scientist say on a symposium: "95% of the hunters believe they belong to the 5% who can

Browning X-Bolt chambered in .30-06 review Alright, here's a breakdown of my experience with a Browning X-Bolt chambered in .30-06, particularly focusing on the upgrades of an aluminum bedding block and a Mastergun stock. I'm coming at this from the perspective of someone who hunts regularly and tinkers with their rifles quite a bit. Overall Impression Browning X-Bolt: The X-Bolt, out of the box, is a solid hunting rifle. Reliable, accurate enough for most hunting situations, and relatively lightweight. However, like most factory rifles, it has room for improvement, particularly in terms of consistency and feel. That's where the bedding block and the Mastergun stock came in. Browning X-Bolt (Base Rifle): Pros: Smooth Bolt Action: The 60-degree bolt lift is quick and easy, especially when you need a fast follow-up shot. It's definitely a step up from some of the more clunky bolt actions out there. Lightweight Browning X-Bolt: Carrying this rifle through the woods all day is ma

5 Best States for Pig Hunting Looking to hit the road for a hog hunt? These five stops are prime for swine Feral hogs are one of the country’s great ecological disasters. Few pests are more difficult to control, or more immediately detrimental to native ecosystems. In fact, some biologists consider hogs to be the most destructive invasive species on the planet. Though their spread across the United States has been slowed a bit over the past few years, thanks to smart regulations and trapping measures, wild pigs are nonetheless here to stay in many parts of the country. Unfortunately, new pig populations most often arise because people intentionally relocate them in hopes of hunting them. That’s why states without existing pig problems have actually taken to outlawing pig hunting — much to the consternation of local hunters who can’t understand how not shooting pigs is actually the best way to control them. But the reality is, pigs breed too fast, and are too intelligent, to control th

One of the features that I appreciate the most is the lightweight construction. Weighing in at just over 7 pounds, the Maxus is easy to handle, whether you’re in the field or at the range. This makes it an excellent choice for long days of shooting, where fatigue can often become an issue with heavier shotguns. The recoil management system in the Maxus is particularly noteworthy. W/S Inertia-Operated Semi-Automatic Shotgun Review I recently had the opportunity to test the W/S inertia-operated semi-automatic shotgun, and I wanted to share my thoughts on its performance, design, and overall usability. As an avid shooter, I always seek firearms that balance reliability and ease of use, and the W/S shotgun came highly recommended by fellow enthusiasts. Pros: Reliability: One of the standout features of the W/S shotgun is its reliability. The inertia-operated system can function well even in less-than-ideal conditions, making it a solid choice for hunting and sport shooting. I tested it with various loads, and it cycled smoothly without any hiccups. Quick Follow-up Shots: The semi-auto action allows for quick follow-up shots, which is crucial during hunting or competitive shooting scenarios. Naivis Gen 2+ Night Vision Scope: Honest Hunter's Review Look, I've been hunting for over 20 years. I've seen gear come and go, and I'm not easily impressed by fancy gadgets. I decided to give the Naivis Gen 2+ night vision scope a try, hoping it would give me an edge during those low-light hunts. I paired it with the Naivis 850nm IR illuminator, which I'll touch on later. Here's my honest take: Naivis Gen 2+ The Good: Decent Image Quality (For Gen 2+): Let's be clear, it's not Gen 3 clarity, but for the price point and being a Gen 2+, the image is surprisingly good. It provides a usable image in fairly dark conditions, allowing target identification out to a reasonable distance (about 150-200 yards in my experience). It definitely beats trying to hunt with binos and a prayer. Sturdy Build: The scope feels solid. It's been bumped around in my pack, endured some light rain, and still holds zero. That's crucial when you're out in the bush. Adjustable Brightness: The ability to adjus

Boar hunting is quite exciting. Since ancient times, there has been great interest in it. In this article we will talk about one of the types of hunting for a wild boar. The main type is considered to be classical hunting. Conducted from the living room. There are two variants of this type of hunting - in the fields for food and on boar crossings. The first option means that you need to find boar feeding points within a set period of time, which does not mean that they are in demand throughout the territory. The wild boar is often omnivorous, for example, it can eat both potatoes and oat fields. In autumn, after the harvest, wild boars can feed in abandoned apple orchards. The best option is hunting in oat fields. To do this, they look for wet lowlands with dense shrubs, as well as swamps. In some cases, if the oat field is in these areas, then the appearance of the wild boar is most likely there. The field is explored in the morning, because by the evening the smell remains there, an

Bring a map and compass. -Carry a basic survival kit and be prepared for an unexpected overnight stay in the field. The survival kit should contain a rope, a knife, water, waterproof matches, an emergency shelter, and first aid supplies. -Dress properly and be prepared for the worst possible conditions. -Wear hunter orange as your outermost gear so that you are visible to other hunters.
