Wolf hunting is a driven hunt with flags. After the wolf pack is noticed, the guides flag the territory. Usually the circumference totals around 5 kilometers. After that each hunter is assigned with shooting position inside the circumference. Then the beaters start their work in order to make the wolves run to the hunters. The average shooting distance is from 50 to 100 meters.Post: 15 May 20:14
Tips for beginners. What caliber should I start with? Many experts recommend starting with the twelfth, because it releases a lot of fractions to hit a moving target, but does not spoil the trophy qualities of the prey. Over time, it is recommended to reduce the caliber. In a couple of years, replace your weapon with a lighter one. This will save a lot of money on consumables (gunpowder, shot). Remember that the right barrel, as a rule, is "pay", that is, it scatters the fraction over the area, and the left "choke" gives a more hefty shot. That is, from a close distance it is necessary to press the trigger that is closer to the butt.Post: 26 June 22:34

Hog Hunting with My Trusty CZ Carbine There’s something about stepping into the woods after sunset that gets the blood pumping. Down here in the South, night hunts for wild hogs aren’t just tradition - they’re necessity. These feral beasts tear up crops, damage land, and challenge even the most seasoned outdoorsman. So tonight, just like many before, I headed out under the stars with my faithful hunting partner - my CZ carbine. 🐗 Tracking the Night Menace Wild hogs are no joke. Fast, smart, and aggressive, they test your skill every step of the way. But with the CZ tucked against my shoulder, I feel ready for whatever comes charging through the brush. There’s a reason I swear by this rifle: it’s balanced, reliable, and built for precision. That’s exactly what you need when you’re lining up a shot in pitch black with just a thermal scope for company. 🌾 The Setup Whether it’s the thick pinewoods of Georgia, the mesquite scrub in Texas, or the dense swamps of Florida—every state’s Post: 9 July 20:15

The .30-06 cartridge is versatile, and the rifle handles it beautifully. Whether I was taking a 150-yard shot at a whitetail or stretching it out to 300 yards on an elk, the rifle performed flawlessly. Build Quality: The Finnish craftsmanship is evident. A little more about unusual art… Irina Prokofieva Tyumen (Russia) artist creates paintings and accessories from cigar bands. Irina got acquainted with cigar culture in 2020, when friends gave her a bag with cigar bands. The first painting created was first hung in a Chelyabinsk (Russia) cigar club. It shows a girl smoking a cigar. Irina spend about two weeks to make one artwork from cigar bonds. "Cigars are an art form. And painting is an art. One goes well with the other," says the artist. Today artworks from cigar bands by Irina become more and more popular. This is how was born the idea to produce silk scarves for men and women with the prints of these unique works. Firstly a plot is being developed, and a composition is being built from cigar bands on the canvas. Then the work is digitized, finalized in a graphic editor and transferred to high-quality Italian silk. The subjects are very diverse: from animalism to portraits. Hunting for a Hare with a Dog: A Day in the Field with ROS the Spaniel Today, my red spaniel ROS showed exceptional skill in tracking a wounded hare. He picked up the scent of the injured animal, chased it down with determination, and finished the job with a clear voice. The emotions I’m feeling right now are overwhelming - not because of the hunt itself, but because of the dog’s incredible work. Thanks to ROS, there’s no wounded animal left suffering in the field. I’m sure many hunters will understand this feeling. While there are breeds that might perform this task even more spectacularly, ROS is my dog, and this was only his second time hunting hare. It’s all part of his training, and I’m proud to share how it went. Here’s how it unfolded: We entered a thicket and emerged into a small clearing. I spotted a hare running along the edge of the field, clearly flushed out by hunters who had gone further ahead. I took a couple of shots through the tall grass, but ROS didn’t see tPost: 3 January 11:06

Last weekend, I embarked on an unforgettable hunting trip in the heart of California’s wilderness. Lamb Karahi Lamb Karahi is one of our favourite lamb curry dishes, and we're telling you now, it is well worth the time and effort to make. Why is it our favourite? The combinations of ingredients make a flavour that's hard to resist. It has a good amount of heat, while the sweet tomatoes, combined with the thick, rich, gravy-like sauce, is pretty moreish. We also love it because you can use cheaper cuts of lamb, which lends itself perfectly to the longer cooking time, meaning you're left with tender pieces of meat at the end. Where is Lamb Karahi from? Mughlai Karahi Gosht gets its name from the deep, circular pots it's traditionally cooked in (like a wok with two handles). It's particularly popular in North Indian, Bangladeshi and Pakistani cuisine (although ingredients will always differ). It's essentially a fragrant, slow-cooked lamb stew made with a rich tomato, garlic, green chilli and garam masala curry base. What other meat can be used in a Karahi dish? PHEASANT (COMMON) A large, long-tailed game bird. Males have rich chestnut, golden-brown and black markings on body and tail, with a dark green head and red face wattling. Females are mottled with paler brown and black. They were introduced in France long ago and more recent introductions have brought in a variety of races and breeds for sport shooting. It flies fast and in a rolling countryside it is a very difficult bird to shoot. In some of our hunting estates there are also some Reeve’s pheasant. This boldly patterned pheasant is instantly recognizable, having some of the longest tail feathers of any bird species. The male has bright golden-chestnut upper parts, with black borders to each feather creating a strongly scaled appearance, while the upper breast is darker chestnut to black, and the lower breast and side feathers are white, tipped in black. The female is much more light is color with a short tail. The males when they fly make a very characteristic sound (like a smalPost: 5 July 13:25
Small Game Alaska As we pushed our way through the waist deep snow the big snowshoe hare just sat there and waited. His “white” camouflage blended perfectly with the snow, but not quite good enough to keep me, and my 8-year old son, Eli from pushing forward. With each step I figured he would bolt, but he didn’t so we decided to keep moving towards him. I slowly raised the BowTech bow and settled the pin. In most states hunting small game usually takes a back seat to hunting big game, especially here in Alaska. With moose, caribou and sheep practically around every corner most people forget that the state also harbors some of the finest small game pursuits in the country. As hunters we all live for the fall and rightly so. Bears, sheep and goats are constantly on our minds and we absolutely cannot wait until the season opens. Like most people who chase animals either with a bow, rifle or shotgun it becomes a totally obsession that drives us not only throughout the year, but alsPost: 15 June 12:57
How to Stalk a Black Bear It was a lazy October day, remarkable only in that I was outside and away from my desk with the forest an utter cornucopia of hunting possibilities. I was bowhunting tassel-eared squirrels with my good friends Dave Faiello and Pat Keith in New Mexico’s northern Gila National Forest. Essentially, it was an excuse to sit around campfires in the evenings with good company while also hunting something during daylight hours. And while western squirrel hunting doesn’t approach the allure of more glamorous big-game, it’s always an action-packed, enjoyable endeavor and nothing to get snooty about. It was nearly lunchtime, and I was just a couple bushytails away from a limit. I was slipping along a ridgeline with a recurve bow holding a quiver full of small-game heads, looking for the telltale flicker of a puffy tail in the pines or a bouncing rodent atop the acorn-laden understory. In the back of my mind, there was also the long shot of something else. That somethinPost: 19 April 17:47
Five Top Tips to Improve Low Light Hunting Illuminated Reticles One of the most popular simple solutions to low light hunting is to buy a riflescope with an illuminated reticle, whereby a light source is directed onto the aim points of the reticle, highlighting the reticle in red, green or blue. The illumination is variable and this allows the shooter to increase the brightness of the reticle to suit the shooting conditions. Hawke Optics have several illuminated riflescopes with illumination control and options of red, green or blue to suit the shooters preference. Illuminated reticles are most useful at dawn or dusk, after this time it is better to illuminate the target with an external light source. View the entire collection of Hawke Reticles. Laser Sights For those countries that allow hunting with a laser one of the tried and tested methods for seeing the point of aim in low light conditions is to fit a laser pointer to a rifle. The most common method of using a laser is toPost: 26 October 22:53

When dreams become real — proud of the hunt, proud of the crew. 🐽 Just wanted to share this moment from our friends’ recent trip to Turkey with CB Wild Hunt. Two incredible boars, each with trophy-grade tusks, taken after days of effort, tracking, and adrenaline. This isn’t staged — it’s the kind of hunt that stays with you for years. For those who know what it’s like to chase wild boar in tough terrain, you’ll appreciate the challenge. These hunters earned every second of it — and you can see it in their faces. Hunts like these remind us why we do it — the camaraderie, the raw nature, and the stories that follow. Respect to the team. That’s one for the books.Post: 19 July 10:29
In Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, and before, and now they hunt with the help of golden eagles. These birds tamed by man are excellent hunter's assistants. There are even competitions for the extraction of a fox or a hare with the help of a golden eagle. Such hunters are called berkutchi. There are about a hundred of them in Kazakhstan. Scientists during the excavations found the bones of golden eagles in the sites of primitive people. Thus, archaeological sensations proved that fishing for small animals with the help of birds of prey was popular among the Turkic peoples three millennia ago. This ancient method of hunting was described in detail in the book of the traveler from Venice, Marco Polo, who lived in the thirteenth century.Post: 31 May 14:03
