Has anyone ever had there horse be genuinely mad at them and had a sad connection loss 😣 I’ve had my mare for 15 years and we recently had to sell a horse. They were pasture friends for 3 years and she is soooo upset that her friend is gone. She still has a pasture friend!!! I’ve sold other horses before But apparently this horse was her “besty”. She still wants to be connected but it feels slightly aggressive lol it’s so weird! She also screams and Chase’s after me if I try to catch the other horse! Just wondering if anyone has ever experienced anything like this and does it go away? 😭 I thought horses didn’t hold grudges….. me and the crazy old coot lol

We don't usually think of moose hunting as the kind of hunting when we need to do a lot of glassing. While standing in a good spot and calling can be successful, my favoured approach is to use optics to locate bulls. Once I have identified a good one, I plan a stalk and get close enough to begin calling. You can see in these images how the team was all glassing. We knew there was a bull out there, but the terrain provided a lot of cover and it wasn't easy to locate him. Once we located him and his cows, we took our bearings and crossed the lake to stalk. Within a short time, we had our bull down. #BBD (big bull down).

🇺🇸 A new adventure with Nikolai, my Russian friend has come to an end. When bow hunting, you have to be ready to come across more downs than ups, and if you’re not ready to assume that it’s better to stay home. What a great feeling to finally be underway as the ferry leaves Wellington and another hunting South Island adventure starts. After a four hour drive I arrived at Berridale station where I met my hunting companion for the week, Jonesy. Gear was transferred to his truck and we were off on the two hour drive to the chopper hanger. We’d had a call from the pilot saying not to waste any time getting there as a big Nor ‘wester was coming in. After a very bumpy flight we were soon heading downhill to a beautiful little basin, which was to be home for the next week, or so we thought. The location meant a 20 minute climb each morning but in this sort of country camping on the open tops leaves you very exposed to strong winds.

End of year review: I've chosen this as my Wildlife Photo of the Year. It's a cheetah running into its new home provided by Trophy Hunters. Yes, beautifully managed trophy hunting by Zambezi Delta Safaris in 500,000 acre Hunting Block 11 has increased native wildlife to such high numbers that they were able to reintroduce cheetahs, a predator missing from the area for at least 100 years. Cabela's Family Foundation is a big part of this program. Four cheetah were released this day. I got this shot by running a GoPro 10 on video mode atop a small tripod while I operated a Canon R6 and 150-600mm Sigma. Lots of good video from both cameras, but this single frame pulled from the GoPro captured the essence of wildlife restoration advanced by and funded by dedicated sport/trophy hunters. The Cape Buffalo is considered by some to be the most dangerous of all of the Big Five. While he seems docile enough when viewed undisturbed in the herd, when agitated or wounded this bovine can be extremely aggressive, vindictive, and cunning. Found all over southern Africa in herds of various sizes, the buffalo can weigh up to 1800 pounds. He is primarily a grazer but an occasional browser who must drink every day. They favor the thick bushveld during the day, leisurely moving and grazing as they go. At night they tend to herd up to protect the young from their archenemy, the lion. Both sexes carry horns, however, the horns of a bull can be quite spectacular in spread, with a deep curl and a solid boss covering the forehead. Cows lack the boss, but can have a very wide spread; in fact, the world record buffalo on file in the Roland Ward record book is a cow with a spread of some 62 inches.
