Hunters couldn't ask for better conditions when Wisconsin's annual nine-day gun deer season opens Saturday. Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials believe that three wolves shot and killed just over the state’s border in Wyoming may have belonged to Colorado’s closely watched North Park wolf pack. Associated Press DENVER (AP) — Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials believe that three wolves shot and killed just over the state's border in Wyoming may have belonged to Colorado's closely watched North Park wolf pack. The North Park pack, which often crosses into Wyoming where hunting wolves is legal, gained notoriety last year after birthing Colorado’s first known litter of pups in 80 years. Travis Duncan, spokesperson for Colorado Parks and Wildlife, said in an email that the agency cannot yet confirm whether the slain wolves were in the North Park pack but will continue to monitor the animals "if and when they are next seen in the area.” Duncan added that at least two wolves were s

Tiger hunting is the capture and killing of tigers. Humans are the tigers' most significant predator, and illegal poaching is a major threat to the tigers. The Bengal tiger is the most common subspecies of tiger, constituting approximately 80% of the entire tiger population in Indian Sub-Continent, and is endemic to Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, and India. Tigers have mythological, cultural and religious significance in these countries. Foreign invaders saw hunting of Tigers as a symbol of masculinity and an adventurous sporting event. It has been hunted in these countries for centuries. In 1924, the Tiger population in Asia was estimated to be more than 100,000. However, within less than a hundred years, it had declined to fewer than 3,200. Tiger has historically been a popular big game animal and has been hunted for prestige as well as for taking trophies. Extensive poaching has continued even after such hunting became illegal and legal protection was provided to the tiger. Now

Wild boar hunting is one of the most popular hunt in France. With an ever-growing population, Wild Boar is commonly present in many regions of France. The average weight is around 50 to 80 kg (110 to 176 lbs) and the biggest male adults are from 100 to 200 kg (220 to 440 lbs), the trophy consisting of its tusks (canines and incisors). Mainly hunted on driven hunts, the wild boar is a smart animal, astute enough to cross hunters' line and then escape. With a very good memory and a perfect knowledge of its territory the Wild Boar is a fascinating animal to hunt and hard to catch. Wounded, this animal can be very dangerous and won't hesitate to charge dogs and sometimes human beings. We hunt wild boar from mid-August to end of February. Stalking and driven hunt are the main methods of hunting this animal. This experience is incredibly intense!

Florida hunters capture more than 80 giant snakes in Python Bowl Most visitors to the mosquito-infested swamps of the Florida Everglades are happy to leave again quickly: a half-hour airboat ride and photograph of a basking alligator is usually enough to satisfy the curiosity of any tourist keen to return to the theme parks and beaches – or sports events – of the sunshine state’s more traditional attractions. But Mike Kimmel wouldn’t be anywhere else. The professional wildlife trapper and self-styled python cowboy’s most recent excursion into the uninhabitable backwaters of the famed River of Grass region was rewarded with the grand prize in this year’s extra-special version of the annual Python Challenge encouraging the public to catch as many of the invasive giant snakes that decimate native wildlife as possible. Mountain hunting in 🇿🇦 South Africa? A target at 500, 600, 700 meters and even further? Yes! If these are the green hills of the Eastern Cape province and hunting wild pigs. 👍 A very interesting hunting format - tracking from afar, and then sneaking up on the mountains and, if possible, a long-range shot. 1️⃣ First, traditionally drive up by car, 2️⃣ then climb higher, find a comfortable position and 3️⃣ binoculars neighboring hills. Telescopes were very useful. Now is the most active time - the rut of wild pigs. No need for bait, ambush near water - this is unnecessary now. All the action is in the mountains and a patient hunter will not miss it! 👉 It is worth noting that the trophies of foothill pigs are excellent: the size is impressive, the weight is under 80-90 kg - this is not a warthog (!), but almost a bushpig. The fangs are also decent. The number of trophies for a 5-day tour is from several to several dozen. Depends on desire and possibilities. 👐 Who wants to spend a

Later history The Franks and other Teutonic peoples were fond of falconry and the chase, and in later centuries both the laity and the clergy were warned by provincial councils against spending so much time and money on hounds, hawks, and falcons. Originally, among the northern nations all could hunt except slaves, who were forbidden to bear arms. The idea of game preservation arose in feudal times when the right to hunt became attached to the ownership of land. Because of their hereditary claim to the title Lord High Masters of the Chase for the Holy Roman Empire, the electors of Saxony enjoyed exceptional opportunities to hunt. Elector John George II of Saxony (reigned 1656–80) shot an astonishing total of 42,649 red deer. He refused the crown of Bohemia not for political reasons but because Bohemian stags were smaller than Saxon ones. To protect his stags, he fenced the boundary between Saxony and Bohemia. An early landgrave of Hesse had a codicil added to the Lord’s Prayer: “Give u

How the Grunt Call Came to Be Realtree pro staffer Brad Harris was grunting up whitetails long before deer calling was cool Brad Harris was high in a tree in Mingo Swamp in southeast Missouri when a 6-point buck walked by at about 80 yards. Harris doesn’t remember the exact year, but it was in the ’70s. He was working in the mines back in those days, and he was among several in a group who loved to bowhunt and spent about every free minute of a break talking about bows, arrows, broadheads, and whitetails. This was back in the day, Harris says, when top-of-the-line hunting equipment was a 45-pound Shakespeare recurve with cedar arrows, and just getting a deer — anything with legal antlers — was a huge accomplishment. One of those buddies at the mine had told Harris that his brother had been hunting and listened as a little buck, standing right under his tree, had made a curious grunting sound. The guy pinched his nose and re-created the grunt himself. Harris had never heard a whitetail
