Oklahoma. Corty & I hit the lake last Friday. We tried a couple of drifts and a few anchors with the boat to no avail. We setup camp on a sandy island right off the main channel ledge. We knew something would come through there overnight. We were able to put baits as deep as 50 feet deep from the bank. The night was slow, until I caught 2 PB Stripers on cut shad! The first is not pictured about 8lbs then 2 hours later a bigger one at 13lbs around midnight. I was excited! I arose around 7 a.m. to see Cortys rod had been pulled forward in the sand. I said, "hey buddy I think you have a fish on!" He got up and landed his NEW PB 57LB Blue Catfish!! She was released healthy. It was a joy to see the hours of fruitless fishing pay off. We caught 3 other dink blues.

Открытие по болотно-луговой Всех приветствую! Решил впервые написать отчёт и выпало это событие на открытие по болотно-луговой дичи. В общем, приехал с моим верным псом-другом в охотугодья поздновато, как потом оказалось, где-то в 7:30, быстренько натянул болотники, застегнул патронташ (благо, что с вечера вставил патроны) и потопали по полям, да болотам. Местность там действительно какая-то пересечённая - то луг, то болотце, но болота все проходимы в болотниках. Отошли метров 100 от машины.........и началось. Утва со всех сторон от нашего шороха начала подниматься, пёс одурел и, соответственно, пока ни о каких куликах речи быть и могло. Я, естественно, дал ему поноситься, потихонечку выходя на луг, затем команда "ко мне" и началась работа. Буквально метров 15 пройдя челноком, пёс поднимает кулика, ну и я благополучно его добываю (патрон NRG №9, 24 г). Затем, пройдя метров 300 луг нам ничего не дал. Подошли к краю болотца, заросшего камышом, я пустил собаку по кромке болота, а сам

A day 3 years in the making. My Wyoming Elk guide, Taytin, and his lovely wife, Lilly, came to visit us this week, and yesterday was epic. This was their first trip east of the Mississippi River. We started the day turkey hunting an Osceola Longbeard, checked out the Largest Live Oak tree in FL, got an 8ft gator (the 1st one they ever laid eyes on), and finished the day in the FL grass flats of the big bend. The 15-year-old hunter is now the proud record holder of the only Boone & Crockett (B&C) bull elk for Virginia with a score of 413-7/8” after his dad, Bo, won a Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) raffle. As GOHUNT previously reported, Virginia announced its first historic elk season last year following a successful reintroduction effort spearheaded by RMEF. I had chased this particular bull several times from a larger herd, but after several failed attempts to get a clear shot, it had finally broken off from the herd with two other, smaller bulls.
