My beloved pony of 10 years is 25 this year and has been having some physical changes recently: new dx of Cushing's, EMS, IR and laminitis. (We have a specialist vet and farrier on our team.) I have been spending lots of time on the ground with her and going on walks together, and I want to learn something new with her to keep her mind engaged and strengthen our bond. I'm not sure if/when I will be able to ride her again but I want to keep her life enriched as long as she can move around and is not in pain. I'd love some liberty lessons and connections to any resources (clinics, books, online programs, facebook groups, etc) to learn about this type of horsemanship. Durante il fine settimana, io e i miei amici decidiamo di fare una gita di caccia con il nostro cane. Partiamo presto al mattino e raggiungiamo la nostra destinazione in montagna dopo un paio d'ore di macchina. Arrivati sul posto, ci prepariamo per la caccia. Indossiamo i nostri abiti mimetici e controlliamo le nostre armi. Il nostro cane, un bel segugio italiano, è eccitato e pronto per iniziare. Camminiamo lungo i sentieri di montagna alla ricerca di tracce di cinghiali. Dopo un po', sentiamo il nostro cane abbaiare e capiamo che ha trovato qualcosa. Ci avviciniamo cautamente e vediamo un gruppo di cinghiali che si muove tra i cespugli. Prendiamo le nostre posizioni e attendiamo silenziosamente. Dopo un po', i cinghiali si avvicinano e inizia la caccia. Il nostro cane è molto abile e ci aiuta a individuare i cinghiali nascosti tra i cespugli. Looking back on a fantastic week in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. I treasure every trip I get to make to the GYE. This image was captured February of 2022. After listening to multiple groups of howls, we decided to position ourselves in between them in hopes we could catch a glimpse. After only 5hrs of being in the general area our patients paid off. To my surprise a beautiful young gray wolf appeared on the ridge above. With another pack across the river communicating with her I knew we were in for a treat. She boldly made her way down the ridge and towards us. I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time. I snapped what would be my favorite wolf shots to date. ORANGE IS A NEW BLACK Stay safe when hunting by following these tips: -Check weather reports before embarking on a hunting trip. -Tell someone where you will be hunting and when you will return. -Be familiar with the area you want to hunt. Bring a map and compass. -Carry a basic survival kit and be prepared for an unexpected overnight stay in the field. The survival kit should contain a rope, a knife, water, waterproof matches, an emergency shelter, and first aid supplies. -Dress properly and be prepared for the worst possible conditions. -Wear hunter orange as your outermost gear so that you are visible to other hunters. Do not wear white or tan during deer season. -Always treat your weapon as if it is loaded, even if it isn't, and know where your hunter partners are located at all times. -If accompanied by a dog, the dog should also wear hunter orange or a very visible color on a vest, leash, coat or bandana. A New Jersey bow hunter established a new state record on Tuesday morning by harvesting a 770-pound black bear in Morris County. Brian Melvin shared with NJ Advance Media that he first spotted the enormous bear approximately three years ago and had been tracking it during the last two hunting seasons. He successfully shot the bear from around 45 yards away at approximately 7 a.m. in Kinnelon. “It never lingered in one location for over six months,” noted Melvin, 39, who began bow hunting in his early twenties. “I spent weeks obtaining permission for land where I believed the bear might be or pass through.
