The main range in the USA is the mountain ranges of the states of Idaho, Montana and southeastern Alaska, in Canada — the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, and the southern Yukon territory. Goats may help prevent wildfires in California as drought worsens The voracious herbivores are being deployed to clear invasive plants throughout wildlands as another catastrophic fire season looms. For the past six years, Alissa Cope’s California company has contracted out goat herds to various clients who need the animals to chow down on unwanted vegetation and invasive plants. “When we got started it was for habitat restoration, and I just got tired of dumping gallons of herbicide on everything,” says Cope, owner of the Sage Environmental Group, a company that specializes in environmental planning with a natural resource focus. “When goats eat the seed, it goes through their digestive tract, and it becomes nonviable. It doesn't grow after it comes out the other end, which is really amazing.”Post: 8 June 14:18

Hunting Up Above the Clouds It is the view of many hunters that mountain hunts are the ultimate expression of hunting. Here you will be challenged at all levels. Physically, mentally, technically. with many long distance shots, and in your understanding of game behavior. At the same time it is difficult not to be smitten by the magic of the mountains and their wild beauty. Mountaineers often say that they become physically addicted to the mountains, something most mountain hunters wholeheartedly agree with. It is also up in the mountains that you can find many of the most sought after trophies win the world; Marco Polo-Sheep, Dall Sheep/Stone Sheep, Snow Sheep, Blue Sheep, Mountain Goats perhaps the mighty Markhor or one of the many sub species of Ibex; Asiatic, European and Spanish. One thing that most of these species have in common is that they live in some of the most isolated parts of the planet, such as Kyrgyzstan, Alaska, Canada, Tajikistan or even the Himalaya. Talarik Creek Lodge: Hunting for Trophy Rainbow Trout I answered him that it was not, and he shrugged off the 18-inch Arctic grayling on the end of my line like it was a piece of weed. My wife had sent us fishing that evening to catch some fresh grayling for dinner and our goal was now achieved, with four large, translucent-white-fleshed fish having been plucked from the cold waters of the Newhalen River. The author’s son Lucas with what he calls “a real fish” also defined as any rainbow trout over 20 inches caught on a fly rod. What is it about rainbow trout that incites such excitement? Why is it that when fishing guides congregate around a fire the conversation always finds its way to rainbows, not salmon, not char, not pike, but definitely rainbows? “Keep it in the water,” “Careful, don’t drop it,” and “Nice release,” are all phrases I’ve heard said and spoken myself. I have a personal admiration for the green-speckled creatures, and rainbow trout fishing has a cult following thaPost: 2 November 10:03

Hour-to-Hour Elk Hunting Tactics. Elk hunting differs from a traditional whitetail hunt in many ways. Elevation, rugged terrain and extraction adversities separate the two, just to name a handful of complicating distinctions. Another difference is the fact elk keep a schedule that offers hunting opportunities throughout the day, whereas whitetails may shut down. Focus on meeting locations that vary by the hour to engage your leggy quarry instead of napping under an old pine tree. 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. If I had to rate one period as the Holy Grail, it would be dawn through midmorning. Elk seem to be anxious, agitated and goal-oriented. That equals noise, and noisy elk are easy to track. The "anxious" issue arises from elk being exposed at sunrise to potential hunting pressure. They are anxious to move to private digs most hunters will be pressed to reach. Herd bulls are anxious to keep the harem together while moving through a barrage of tag-along satellite bulls. What is the goal? By midmoPost: 17 September 18:10

Boar hunting is quite exciting. Since ancient times, there has been great interest in it. In this article we will talk about one of the types of hunting for a wild boar. The main type is considered to be classical hunting. Conducted from the living room. There are two variants of this type of hunting - in the fields for food and on boar crossings. The first option means that you need to find boar feeding points within a set period of time, which does not mean that they are in demand throughout the territory. The wild boar is often omnivorous, for example, it can eat both potatoes and oat fields. In autumn, after the harvest, wild boars can feed in abandoned apple orchards. The best option is hunting in oat fields. To do this, they look for wet lowlands with dense shrubs, as well as swamps. In some cases, if the oat field is in these areas, then the appearance of the wild boar is most likely there. The field is explored in the morning, because by the evening the smell remains there, anPost: 28 July 18:38
