Horns? Or feathers? The great horned owl gets its name from the tufts of feathers on its head that look like ears. But the owl's ears are really farther down on the side of its head, and are just openings in the skull hidden beneath feathers. Its large eyes let it see in almost complete darkness, and if there is no light at all, its excellent hearing helps it hunt by sound. Owls are stealth hunters; they can easily sneak up on their prey since their fluffy feathers give them almost silent flight. When it finds prey, it dives and snatches it with its long, sharp talons. Great horned owls are very strong and can carry animals several times heavier than themselves!

There are even competitions for the extraction of a fox or a hare with the help of a golden eagle. Such hunters are called berkutchi. There are about a hundred of them in Kazakhstan. Scientists during the excavations found the bones of golden eagles in the sites of primitive people. Thus, archaeological sensations proved that fishing for small animals with the help of birds of prey was popular among the Turkic peoples three millennia ago. This ancient method of hunting was described in detail in the book of the traveler from Venice, Marco Polo, who lived in the thirteenth century.

Amateur Hunting Launched in Armenia The amateur hunting season will start in Armenia from August 20. RA Environment Minister Hakob Simidyan signed the decree on setting the allowable quantities and hunting dates for hunting animals in the territory of the Republic of Armenia (except for specially protected nature areas) for 2023-2024. Hereby, persons with a hunting permit can carry out unlimited hunting of gray crow, magpie, wolf, jackal and fox. A 55 inch tall one with a Mallard head would be perfect for me . The two tall ones I have to use have a carving near the top . I carved the outline of a coyote in one and I bought one on the internet that has a terrible eagles head. I use it but not when I go out. I will try and redo it. The electric car maker launched Cyberquad for Kids, a four-wheel all-terrain vehicle inspired by the design of Cybertruck, Tesla's futuristic take on the pickup truck. The $1,900 Cyberquad features a full-steel frame, cushioned seat and an adjustable suspension with rear disk braking and LED light bars, Tesla said on its website. Tesla says the electric ATV is suitable for children ages 8 and up. It can hold a maximum weight of 150 pounds. The Cyberquad's battery has an estimated range of 15 miles, and can recharge in about five hours. It can reach a top speed of 10 mph on one speed setting, and can reverse at a max speed of 5 mph. The company said the Cyberquad will start shipping in two to four weeks. Tesla CEO Elon Musk introduced the Cybertruck in 2019, which drew polarizing reactions for its unusual design. According to the web page for Cybertruck, production on the vehicle is expected to start next year.

And it’s part of Utah’s new conservation officer drone team aimed at keeping tabs on the hard-to-reach areas of the state. Wolf charges Bear, then Bear charges the Wolf. I waited at a Bison carcass from 5am to 9pm for 3 days. Eagles and coyotes had been coming in trying to get a bite, while the Grizzly guarded the carcass, just as its mother taught it to. It would sleep on it and cover it with dirt, and when it seemingly left the scene….it would show back up when other animals tried to feed. On the 3rd morning a lone Wolf 1479 showed up from the Junction Butte pack. It had about 10 minutes to eat before the Grizzly came back. They had an initial stare down. The wolf stood on the carcass and then charged the bear. The bear initially retreated and then decided to charge the wolf. Of course the bear reclaimed the carcass. When is the right time to restrict your aging hunting dog from the field? With shaking hands and nervous anticipation, I slipped the GPS collar around Winchester’s neck and felt the subtle trembling always present prior to launch. For a moment, I considered leaving the collar in the truck, knowing my big running partner wouldn’t be running strong enough for me to fear him going over the edge of nowhere, one of the defining characteristics of our 12-year relationship. He sat quietly, except for the gentle thumping of his tail on the seat, while I assembled the Winchester 101, 12-gauge, I had also considered leaving in the truck. But, Winchester knew that the gun and the collar meant a hunt, and their absence meant the outing was only a walk.
