Došlo k tomu po konzultacích se skotskou vládou probíhajících od začátku roku 2023. První ze změn je, že od 21. října 2023 byla zrušena omezená doba lovu samců všech druhů jelenovitých (jelen evropský, daněk evropský, sika, srnec obecný). Znamená to, že jejich odstřel nyní ve Skotsku může probíhat po celý rok. Přestože BASC byla proti tomuto návrhu, uznává, že může odstranit určité překážky v managementu populací jelenovitých. BASC však i nadále prosazuje, aby v zimních měsících bylo prioritou dosažení plánovaného odstřelu holé zvěře.
