Review of KHAN ARMS MATRIX CAMO 12/76 Shotgun (Barrel Length: 760mm) As an avid shotgun enthusiast, I recently had the chance to try out the KHAN ARMS MATRIX CAMO 12/76. This shotgun has garnered attention due to its unique features and stylish design, so I was eager to put it through its paces. Here’s a detailed review highlighting both the pros and the cons of this firearm. Pros: Aesthetics and Camouflage Design: The MATRIX CAMO feature is visually striking. The camouflage pattern is not only stylish but also functional for hunting purposes, allowing for effective concealment in various outdoor environments. It certainly stands out from more traditional shotgun designs. Build Quality: The shotgun feels robust and well-constructed. Fishing in Costa Rica: Dancing the Jig with Costa Rican Monsters The volcanic reefs off the coast of Costa Rica remind me of a haunted house. They are dark with all kinds of nooks, crannies, and pinnacles to hide in, or seek a quick escape. There could be a monster around every corner sitting at an ambush point. Grouper hang close to the bottom. A variety of snapper and big Almaco jacks cruise just above them patrolling the water column. African Pompano and Bluefin trevally are mixed with them. Above all that large schools of jack crevalle and barracuda circle like a wagon train waiting for a school of bonito or other baitfish to arrive. Mark Davis has a knack for fooling these monsters. He needs to. As host of one of the most popular fishing shows on television, Big Water Adventures, he is expected to produce. He rarely lets his audience down. Starting his 15th season, Davis is a survivor in a tough industry. And unlike some who carry an entourage of many people to produce their s

New York Hunter Gets a Second Chance on This 180-Inch Buck “I was shaking so bad I missed him clean, sending my arrow three feet over his back” eremy Williams likes to hunt his family’s 500-acre parcel near the Susquehanna River in south-central New York. He goes down to the river often, and last summer he spotted a giant buck near the bank while catfishing. Williams watched where the deer bedded, and then came back to place trail cams in the area. By October, he’d learned the buck’s habits well enough to make his move. “He was only 20 yards away from me on Oct. 10,” Williams tells Outdoor Life. “But I was shaking so bad I missed him clean, sending my arrow three feet over his back.” Eager to redeem himself this season, Williams kept an eye on his trail cams and he kept getting photos of the buck. A few other hunters in the area had spotted the buck, too. But he wasn’t an easy deer to pattern. “I’d been bowhunting him on [our] family’s land in low, thick areas because I believed th

Sauer Introduces SL5 Waterfowl Shotguns J.P. Sauer & Sohn has introduced its new line of SL5 Waterfowl shotguns. SITKA Goes Under ‘Cover’ With Next-Gen Greener Camo When a brand chooses to "Go Green" these days, it tends to mean something completely different. It may seem like a new color to many, but the new palette at SITKA has a lot of hunters excited. OPTIFADE Cover is the first camo option from SITKA that brings increased levels of green and deeper shadows to its lineup. The brand worked with researchers at the University of Georgia Deer Research Lab to create the palette. The goal was to offer better concealment in “greener seasons,” with a focus on hiding hunters in densely vegetated areas and leafy tree environments. Regionally, the target audience for this new shift in shade was the eastern United States. Obviously, this isn’t going to be the top choice for golden grasslands or the red rock of the open badlands, but that isn’t what it’s meant for. Not only does Cover work well in the environments it was designed for, but it also works really well in lower-light, heavily shadowed land

Inuit (Aleutian) in a park made from the insides of a sea lion. Nome, Alaska. The year is 1900. Arctic hunters most often make trousers and shoes from the skins of marine mammals, and outerwear from deer skins and warm it with fox, squirrel or arctic fox fur. Among the hunters of Chukotka, rovduga is widely used – suede made of elk or deer skins. Eskimos and Aleutian sea hunters sew unique, authentic waterproof camel lace anoraks. We all use lightweight waterproof raincoats. No fisherman or hunter can do without them, mushroom pickers and outdoor vacationers always take raincoats with them. Modern raincoats are made of plastic or a special impregnated material. However, among the northern peoples, such cloaks are made from natural materials, from the insides of walruses, seals and sea lions. Kamlot is a blind shirt with a hood (anorak), which was usually worn as an upper layer on fur coats or jackets, and sea St. John's wort - for hunting. Such a shirt was made from the insides and

Argentinien.

Field Tested: Browning Trail Cameras Trail cameras serve two purposes: tracking and security. Slimline options do their best at remaining undetected to human beings who might be trespassing on your property, while larger, higher-definition models will draw the most detail out of whatever sets it off. Earlier this year, my wife and I obtained an eight-acre piece of property that has remained untouched for nearly a decade. As such, it has become a bit of a sanctuary for animals that run off from the adjacent state game lands abutting its corner. Property of this nature is often desirable, as it typically makes for an easy hunt due to its long vacancy. However, for the same reason, it becomes attractive to those that want to have a private hunting experience without paying for land of their own. With that in mind, I scoured Browning’s website to find affordable cameras to serve my purposes, and came up with the Strike Force Gen 5 and the Dark Ops HD Max.Features The features on both came

9 Ways to Ruin Your Outfitted Hunt A multi-thousand-dollar hunt is something to take seriously while still enjoying a great time. Here’s how to behave yourself Outfitted hunts can be very exciting. I’ve done several of them, and most were with salt-of-the-earth folks who respected one another and had a great time. But I’ve shared a couple of camps with chest-thumping types who cussed and drank more than they hunted. It ruined an otherwise great atmosphere. Have you ever been on an outfitted hunt and experienced someone or several people acting foolishly? Did it negatively affect your hunt time in camp? For that matter, have you been the annoying or disrespectful guy or gal in camp? You want to have a good time on an outfitted hunt, but it’s important to follow some common-sense guidelines, too. These are some of the big ones. 1. Keeping Others Awake After traveling a great distance and paying thousands, who wants to be kept awake by someone is talking loudly and slamming doors? Out

Eskimos started using sunglasses more than a thousand years ago! Incredibly, but it’s a fact. We have already written recently that Inuit (Eskimos) invented some items that are now used by all of humanity. As for example, a waterproof fabric, an anorak jacket and a kayak boat. But there is something even more incredible! Everyone knows that on a sunny day, the bright sun makes your eyes blind. To hunt in bright, blinding light is simply impossible. Most of us use sunglasses in the south and we perceive them exclusively as an accessory for hot countries. But that's because only few of us have been to the north. And we can't even imagine how the sunlight intensifies after reflecting off the white snow. Long before us, Eskimos, according to one version, invented the first sunglasses. Of course, they did not have darkened glass… But they carved it out of bone or wood the likeness of modern glasses with thin slits for the eyes, capable of softening and limiting excessive light. Hunting in Brazil: What are the options? Abstract In Brazil most forms of hunting and keeping of wild animals are illegal, although they remain widely practiced and are deeply culturally embedded in many regions. The drivers of such widespread non-compliance are poorly understood and evidence to support future policy decisions is generally lacking. In this paper, we seek to stimulate a critical debate on how to deal with hunting in Brazil by analysing the main factors driving non-compliance with current legislation. This is particularly timely given that several amendments to existing legislation are currently under consideration. Our analysis suggests that, while there are no simple solutions to non-compliance, a targeted suite of the following policy options could improve the monitoring, sustainability and conservation consequences of hunting in Brazil: (i) simplifying the process to become a registered subsistence hunter; (ii) expanding participation in licensing schemes; (iii) inv
