In nine out of 10 of cases, it is hunters themselves who were the victims of accidents, and in 30% of cases, accidents were self-inflicted. Most accidents occurred during big game hunts, such as for wild boar. These figures do not include incidents that have caused injury or death to domestic animals, or instances where bullets have entered homes or cars.

Wines to Pair with Fowl Turkey, goose, pheasant? A free-range chicken, or even a capon? The time of the season seems to indicate fowl. We kind of like the idea, since it is out of the ordinary to roast a big bird for a festive feast, the kind of bird that can feed a dozen. With that comes wine challenges, though to say “challenge” is stretching the truth. That truth is almost any wine can match nicely with a big bird roast, plenty of vegetables, maybe a grilled romaine salad with parmesan and homemade croutons. Some choices: Evolve Cellars pinot blanc ($15), almost Alsatian in style with its crispness, but it is distinctively Okanagan as well, with its viscosity and herbal notes, surrounded by delightful stone fruit elements. A sensationally good sparkling wine, the Cipes Blanc de Franc ($45) from Summerhill Pyramid Winery, is a sparkling cabernet franc, which will turn heads, and have people coming back for more, so you may need to have two bottles. It is a delightful, fruit-driven wi

A new species of snake was named in honor of Harrison Ford. Ants and spiders have already been named after the artist. One of Harrison Ford's most famous roles is the archaeologist Indiana Jones in the famous franchise. The character is characterized by intelligence, dexterity and bravery. But at the same time, he is very afraid of snakes. Despite this, Harrison Ford's name was borrowed for a new species of snake found in the Peruvian Andes. Tachymenoides harrisonfordi does not pose a danger to humans. The length of the reptile is 16 feet (0.4 m). There are stripes on her body, and yellow, brown and copper shades are present in her color. Ants (Pheidole harrisonfordi) and spiders (Calponia harrisonfordi) were previously named after Ford. Harrison Ford is not the only celebrity after whom previously unknown organisms and substances have been named. "These scientists continue to give my name to animals that children are so afraid of.
