Very soon, UH.app will be available in the most remote wilderness. It will be available on the highest mountains, in endless savannahs and prairies. Where it seemed impossible before. The Starlink satellite Internet, launched by SpaceX in 2019, is becoming increasingly popular in African countries. Starlink offers high-speed connectivity even in the most remote regions where traditional Internet infrastructure is either lacking or underdeveloped. The service has already had a major impact on the market, especially in Kenya, where the number of subscribers has reached 8000 since its launch in July 2023. This undermines the monopoly of large providers such as Safaricom.Post: 15 January 03:26

Just back from a week photographing the Bighorn Sheep rut. Fortunate to locate this fellow. I have photographed him several times over the years. Always happy to see he made it through another year. The battle scars on his majestic horns stand as a testament to the resilience of a warrior who has navigated the precipitous cliffs and harsh landscapes, emerging triumphant time and again. This photograph immortalizes a living legend, a symbol of endurance and fortitude amidst the unforgiving wilderness, where only the strongest endure. Blue Skies. “Landlocks & Brookies” • The fam and I were out trying to find moose along the dirt roads when we stumbled upon an apparently unnamed pond on the Connecticut River, which is scarcely more than a humble brook that far up. First cast at the outflow of the small dam brought a brookie up to an elk hair caddis. Subsequent casts found brookies wildly striking away, with the occasional salmon parr in the mix. Wild brookies on the little stream that is the Connecticut River: it sounds so contradictory when you come from a place where the river is upwards of a quarter-mile across! Post: 14 August 18:04
In the United Kingdom, the term hunting with no qualification generally refers to hunting with hounds, e.g. normally fox hunting, stag (deer) hunting, beagling, or minkhunting, whereas shooting is the shooting of game birds. What is called deer hunting elsewhere is deer stalking. According to the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) over a million people a year participate in shooting, including stalking, shooting, hunting, clay shooting and target shooting. Firearm ownership is regulated in the UK by licensing. Provisions exist for those without a Firearm or Shotgun certificate to shoot under the supervision of a certificate holderPost: 14 July 17:10

I love log cabins and it’s surrounding peaceful nature. Six yrs ago when we’re house hunting, there was this house with an indoor layout designed like a log cabin. It was amazingly homey and comfy, but couldn’t afford of course. I’ve never been in a log cabin in the woods or up in the mountains. They look so cool, relaxing, peaceful and a perfect place to relax and retire, but my fear of wild animals weigh more than my log cabin love. Don’t want to open the door greeted by a grizzly bear or a wolf!Post: 9 November 09:54
Cyclists hospitalised after hornet attack in France What are hornets? Hornets are the largest of the wasp family native to Europe. Like bees, hornets live in large colonies with a single queen and thousands of workers and build their nests from tree fibres. While hornets usually prefer to avoid contact with humans, they will sting as a defence mechanism in response to having their nest disturbed, and can be aggressive near their food source too. Hornets hunt insects like beetles, moths, dragonflies and wasps. They will also eat rotting fruit they might find on the ground.Post: 9 August 18:21
