Texas game wardens had to get a bit creative while rescuing a hunting dog name Maria who found herself lost at the bottom of a well in South Texas during a recent hunting trip. According to the game wardens blotter, during the course of the quail hunt on a property in Jim Hogg County, Maria had chased an injured bird through a thicket and didn't return, which worried her owners. They began an immediate search and eventually found her trapped about 50 feet down at the bottom of a well on the property. Game wardens in Jim Hogg County, typically tasked with enforcing the state's hunting and wildlife laws, were quick to arrive and used a makeshift pulley system to lower a kennel to the bottom. Děčínský zámek a myslivost Zámek patří mezi nejstarší památkové objekty v ČR. První nepřímá zmínka pochází již z konce 10. století. Jeho historie se tedy odvíjí více než 1000 let. Současná podoba zámku vypínajícího se nad středem moderního města je dílem hraběcího rodu Thun-Hohenstein, který držel děčínské panství v letech 1628 až 1932. Thunové pocházeli z jižních Tyrol a postupně se vypracovali mezi přední šlechtické rody habsburské monarchie. Příslušníci rodu pravidelně zastávali důležité politické i církevní úřady. Například Lev Thun působil v 19. století jako ministr kultu a vyučování, jeho synovec Franz Thun zastával hned dvakrát post místodržitele v Čechách a v letech 1898 až 1899 se stal předsedou rakouské vlády a současně i ministrem vnitra. Za své zásluhy byl roku 1911 povýšen do knížecího stavu, který od té doby dědí prvorozený syn. Angola While hunting is not currently taking place on a commercial basis in Angola it is looking like a new hot spot and may open up by 2025 with some outstanding Elephant and Cape Buffalo available. We recently looked at some hunting areas in the Cuando Cubango Province near Mavinga and I personally saw buffalo over 45 inches and bull Elephant in the 60–70-pound range. There is already a very nice lodge in place and once the CITES details are worked out this will be the prime area for most hunts in Angola. Review of the Pard SA 62-45 LRF Thermal Scope I recently had the opportunity to test the Pard SA 62-45 LRF thermal scope, and I wanted to share my honest impressions based on my experience. First off, the image quality is quite impressive for a thermal scope in this price range. The resolution is clear, and the ability to distinguish between various heat signatures is a notable feature. Whether in complete darkness or during dusk conditions, this scope performs admirably, allowing for effective target acquisition. The built-in LRF (Laser Range Finder) has been a game-changer for my shooting accuracy. It provides quick and reliable distance readings, which is crucial for long-range shots. The range-finding functionality works well, although I found that it can sometimes struggle with reflective surfaces, such as metal objects.
