Wolf charges Bear, then Bear charges the Wolf. I waited at a Bison carcass from 5am to 9pm for 3 days. Eagles and coyotes had been coming in trying to get a bite, while the Grizzly guarded the carcass, just as its mother taught it to. It would sleep on it and cover it with dirt, and when it seemingly left the scene….it would show back up when other animals tried to feed. On the 3rd morning a lone Wolf 1479 showed up from the Junction Butte pack. It had about 10 minutes to eat before the Grizzly came back. They had an initial stare down. The wolf stood on the carcass and then charged the bear. The bear initially retreated and then decided to charge the wolf. Of course the bear reclaimed the carcass. Myotts COUNTRY LIFE Hand Engraved Dinnerware Set (1982) I recently came across an exquisite dinnerware set from Myotts® that caught my attention - particularly for its nostalgic charm and attention to detail. This set, dating back to 1982, is part of the COUNTRY LIFE collection, and it's evident that a lot of care went into its design and craftsmanship. First and foremost, the hand-engraved English scenes on each piece add a unique character that sets it apart from mass-produced dinnerware. The illustrations depict the culture and traditions of English hunting, hunting in England on horseback, the love of English hounds, the strength of passionate hunters, perfectly capturing the essence of real English country life and the traditions of hunters. Each piece feels like a little work of art, making every meal feel special. The colors are declared as "permanent," and I must say that after using this set for several occasions, they have held up remarkably well. There’s no fading or weaPost: 30 November 10:35
New clues may explain the mysterious origins of the Falklands wolf Charcoal, bones, and tools suggest Indigenous seafarers inhabited the Falklands. It’s possible they may have brought their canine companions along. When Charles Darwin arrived at the Falkland Islands in 1833, the lone mammal he saw wandering its desolate shores was an odd fox-like creature. Darwin and other European settlers assumed that the Falklands, also known as Islas Malvinas and located several hundred miles east of the Argentina coastline, were uninhabited. There were no settlements and no people who could have ferried the enigmatic Falkland fox, also called the warrah, to this cold, scrubby archipelago. The warrah, they decided, must have made its own way across the sea. Scientists later hypothesized the foxes could have made it there by rafting on debris or hopping across ice floes during the last Ice Age. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/article/falkland-islands-wolf-fox-origin-people But a newPost: 9 November 18:14
CNW- The Government of Antigua and Barbuda has denied its representatives on the International Whaling Commission (IWC) are assisting with efforts to repeal the whaling ban. Whaling is the process of hunting whales for their usable products such as meat and blubber, which can be turned into a type of oil that became increasingly important in the Industrial Revolution In a statement released yesterday, the government said, “Cabinet has NOT agreed to repeal the moratorium on whale hunting and is unaware of any statement to the contrary.” The government of Antigua and Barbuda issued the statement after international media outlets and marine charities reported that Antigua and Barbuda had proposed the repeal of the moratorium on whaling alongside Japan and several other nations. Marine wildlife protection charity, OceanCare, claimed Antigua and Barbuda and countries which support the lifting of the ban proposed that whales be seen as a food source to secure food and nutritional securitPost: 7 December 17:58

8 Best Charge-Stopping Bear Cartridges 1. .45-70 Government First adopted by the U.S. military in 1873, the .45-70 Government has been one of the longest-standing big-game cartridges of all time. It’s also been incredibly popular among Alaskan hunters and guides, especially in lever-actions like Marlin’s 1895 Guide Gun, which is compact, fairly lightweight and highly maneuverable in close quarters. It’s also capable of sending a massive projectile, like Buffalo Bore’s 430-grain hard-cast bullet, at roughly 2000 fps and 3,600 ft.-lbs. from the muzzle. Talk about stopping power. 2. .454 Casull Developed by Dick Casull and Jack Fulmer in 1957, the .454 Casull is a dangerous game hunter’s dream come true. One of the more powerful handguns available today, the .454 is capable of pushing a 300-grain Buffalo Bore bullet at 1650 fps with 1,813 ft.-lbs. of energy at the muzzle. Nelson killed one of his charging grizzlies with a .454 Casull, which he says is one of his favorite choices for bear Post: 23 September 00:21
Brown Bear The brown bear has several unusual habits that are rarely noticed in the literature. The character of the bear is often overlooked, despite the popularity of this game among hunters. First of all, it is an unusual persistence with which the bear achieves not only food, but even a small amount of food or treats. Successful body structure, strength, help the bear in the implementation of his plans. In an area where apples and fruits grow, the animal has the opportunity not only to pick up fallen ones from the ground, but also to climb branches for food. Also, bears are smart animals. When he notices that it is not convenient to pluck fruits from flexible branches, he begins to shake the tree at the base and calmly collects the fallen fruits. Hunters who have been watching the bear at the fruit–bearing trees know the characteristic noise made by the branches - like a gust of wind. The persistence of the bear generates the irascibility of this animal, if he does not achieve whaPost: 4 July 09:05
Fishing in Sweden Fishing in Sweden in its 100,000 lakes, wild waterways and along the coast is a trip of a lifetime. Come hook a salmon, trout or Arctic char. Sweden’s biggest lake is Lake Vänern (south west) at around 5,600 square kilometres surface area. It’s so big it has its own weather system, and an archipelago of some 20,000 islands. If you’re thinking that this creates fantastic angling possibilities you’d be right; you can go trolling for landlocked salmon and trout, pike and zander. Southern Sweden features mostly lowland lakes holding pike, zander and perch and coarse species. As you travel northwards, the landscape changes; more rugged, hilly and forest carpeted with thousands of lakes holding pike, perch and carp in the far south, as well as brown trout, grayling and zander. As you approach the tree line in northern Sweden, where the giant spruce forests end, Arctic tundra, meadows, glaciers and towering mountain peaks take over. Up here the lakes are full of brown trPost: 20 May 21:43

Talarik Creek Lodge: Hunting for Trophy Rainbow Trout I answered him that it was not, and he shrugged off the 18-inch Arctic grayling on the end of my line like it was a piece of weed. My wife had sent us fishing that evening to catch some fresh grayling for dinner and our goal was now achieved, with four large, translucent-white-fleshed fish having been plucked from the cold waters of the Newhalen River. The author’s son Lucas with what he calls “a real fish” also defined as any rainbow trout over 20 inches caught on a fly rod. What is it about rainbow trout that incites such excitement? Why is it that when fishing guides congregate around a fire the conversation always finds its way to rainbows, not salmon, not char, not pike, but definitely rainbows? “Keep it in the water,” “Careful, don’t drop it,” and “Nice release,” are all phrases I’ve heard said and spoken myself.
