Post: 23 March 17:55
J.P. The Chartreuse Chamois is a mountain game that lives in the Chartreuse Massif, in the south-east of France. It is the biggest chamois with male adults being around 50-55 kg in weight. How to keep your pet summer fit. A veterinarian who sits at Pet Mall and Murphy Veterinary Hospital in GD Block and Pooches N More in Lake Town, shares tips on pet care. 1. Walks- Keep the temperature in mind when walking your pets. Given how hot it has been getting, it is advised to walk them early in the morning or late in the evening. This will help prevent heat strokes and footpad burning. If they undergo excessive panting it is better to keep them indoors. Keep them in air-conditioned rooms as per the requirement of the day. 2. Drinking water- Ample clean drinking water should be provided to your pet to avoid dehydration. 3. Ticks and fleas- Ectoparasites, especially ticks and fleas, are a big threat in summer months. Ticks belonging to the genus Rhipicephalusare are most commonly encountered here. Another shot of the fox I photographed yesterday while driving on Farmer's Loop here in Fairbanks. If you look closely, you can see it's frosty breath around it's muzzle. It's in the exact same spot as the other shot with the exception of the head position. I thought it was a crossfox, but I've had one person say may be a silverfox, and another friend say a melanistic red fox, which is a broad term to mean a red fox with a non standard coloration. I've seen a few non-standard foxes in the East Fairbanks area that I suspect are related, this one included. All within about a six mile radius of each other. This is an area large enough that they are not the same individual, but may be family members.Post: 17 October 17:47

Hunting in Brazil: What are the options? Abstract In Brazil most forms of hunting and keeping of wild animals are illegal, although they remain widely practiced and are deeply culturally embedded in many regions. The drivers of such widespread non-compliance are poorly understood and evidence to support future policy decisions is generally lacking. In this paper, we seek to stimulate a critical debate on how to deal with hunting in Brazil by analysing the main factors driving non-compliance with current legislation. This is particularly timely given that several amendments to existing legislation are currently under consideration. Our analysis suggests that, while there are no simple solutions to non-compliance, a targeted suite of the following policy options could improve the monitoring, sustainability and conservation consequences of hunting in Brazil: (i) simplifying the process to become a registered subsistence hunter; (ii) expanding participation in licensing schemes; (iii) invPost: 15 May 22:13

How Does Benelli’s Inertia-Driven System Work? A Hunter’s Deep Dive into Legendary Reliability If you’ve ever shouldered a Benelli shotgun in the field, you’ve likely felt the difference. It’s not just the balance or the Italian craftsmanship - it’s the Inertia-Driven® system, the heart of Benelli’s semi-automatic legacy. As a lifelong hunter and firearms enthusiast, I’ve trusted this system in rain, snow, dust, and heat. Let me break down how it works, why it matters, and what makes it stand apart from gas-operated shotguns. ⚙️ The Core Principle: Recoil, Not Gas Unlike gas-operated shotguns that siphon off combustion gases to cycle the action, Benelli’s Inertia-Driven system uses pure recoil energy. When you fire a shell, the entire shotgun moves backward—except for the bolt body, which momentarily resists due to inertia. This delay compresses a spring between the bolt head and bolt body. Once the spring reaches full compression, it expands, driving the bolt rearward to eject the Post: 29 June 18:41

Searching the right haystacks is the best way to find needles. Pursuers of whitetails, this continent’s favorite and most widespread big game animal, take to the woods each fall for a variety of reasons. Many deer hunters simply enjoy communing with nature. Some are more driven to collect venison for the freezer. For others, the quest is all about antlers, and the bigger the better. Size really does matter to the 10 million-plus hunters smitten with white-tailed deer, whether it’s the driving force behind their passion or simply a bonus. Success depends on luck, skill and, most important, location.
