This has happened multiple times now! Here is the story👇 Ready for a once in a lifetime hunting story? One of our followers, Brock Maksymiw, from Saskatchewan, just sent us these photos with his story. He first got this buck on camera back on 11/22 and thought his camera had a glitch. It wasn't until 11/24 when it was confirmed this buck actually had another bucks head attached to it! Brock quickly grabbed his gear and headed out to the property where the pictures were taken. Sure enough after a short while, he saw it and fired, but missed! As Brock wrote, his nerves got the best of him. However, Brock came back a few hours later and saw the same buck in a different spot, and got him. Post: 4 December 19:59

To early humans, hunting was a necessity. The quarry provided not only food from the meat but also clothing from the skins, as well as material for tools from the bones, horns, and hooves. Both archaeological evidence from the past and observation of simpler societies of the present show widespread preoccupation with, and ingenuity in, methods of hunting. These varied, and vary, with the nature of the terrain, the animal hunted, the ingenuity and inventiveness of the hunters, and the materials and technologies at their disposal. Weapons ranged upward in intricacy and effectiveness from sticks and stones used to kill birds and small game to specially shaped clubs and throwing sticks such as the African knobkerry, the trombash of the Upper Nile, and the Australian boomerang; to spears ranging from simple pointed sticks to those with a separate foreshaft, usually barbed, and armed with heads of sharpened stone, bone, or metal. How the return of poaching threatens India’s tiger success story The poachers who killed T32 in India’s Madhya Pradesh had a simple plan, and executed it at night. Running wire through a field and applying a strong current, they electrocuted the tigress as she patrolled her territory, beating her to death after she lost consciousness. They then pulled out her canines, whiskers and claws before dumping the body in a village well, weighted down by a stone. T32 was declared missing by rangers, until three days later the stone gave way and her remains floated up to the surface of the well. The grim image of the tigress’s mutilated body floating in the water sent ripples of outrage through the conservation community. Here in the dense forests in the heart of central India, the reserves of Madhya Pradesh are playing a crucial role in what the government says is the success story of Project Tiger. Group two of this year’s trainees started their overnight hunt on Saturday morning. After hiking to their campsite with the aid of the club gps units, it was time for a quick target validation sighting session. Next it was time to hit the hills. It was a slow start with the animals all bedded down and refusing to break cover. Eventually an animal presented a shot while being tucked away in the bush. By the end of the weekend, which went late into Sunday arvo, all of group two had an animal packed into their vehicles. Once again the trainees all learnt heaps and left for home with big smiles all round. The instructors for group two were Ron, Neil, Steve and Hamish, and thanks again to Muddy Waters Hunting NZ and Hamish Luce for being our host.Post: 28 March 17:56
Our good friend Joe Tenney of Creek Side Deer Recovery in Ohio put this shot chart together with help of several Ohio Trackers a couple years ago. Now please read my words carefully, these pins were from deer that were tracked by a dog. These pins represent the outcome of the track. When you see a green pin that means there was proof of life, a trail cam pic, sighting or jump on track. The moral of the story? If you make a good bad shot in center mass the dog is going to find that deer! Stay low and stay off the shoulder! Most of these pins are archery tracks! The Right Way to Clean and Store Your Hunting Rifle Properly caring for your deer gun’s barrel and action ensures it’ll be ready to go again next fall Deer season is over, and now is the perfect time to give your rifle a thorough annual cleaning. Store your gun in a secure and rust-free environment and it will be in good working order when you break it out for a range session in a few months. Gun-Cleaning Gear To do the job right, you need to secure your rifle horizontally in a vise. A vise attached to a workbench at your house will work fine. Or you can purchase a portable gun vise from a company that specializes in firearms-cleaning accessories. Spend $40 or more for a universal gun-cleaning kit, which will include a three-piece bore rod and an assortment of jags, brushes, patches, and other accessories for cleaning not only your bolt-action, but also other handguns and long guns that you own. Also, and this is important, purchase a bore guide, which will protect the bore and actionPost: 28 June 19:29
