While spot-and-stalk methods are popular, driven hunts offer a different kind of adrenaline rush, testing your reflexes and shooting skills. What is a Driven Hunt? The Different Types of Hunting in Italy There are different types of hunting in Italy. There are specific times of the year that one can go hunt. Here are some of them: Wild boar hunting in Italy Compared to other types of hunting, boar hunting is the most traditional. The reason is that hunters are allowed to join their non-hunting counterparts. The hunting takes place at sunset when the animals come to the fields to feed. Wild boar hunting originally happened in Central Italy and Maremma. Nowadays, you can hunt for them anywhere in Italy as they are populating all over the country. The best method to hunt them is to hide at a high seat that over-looks the fields in the middle of the forest. Most boars get out of the woods when it’s dark. You can hunt for them as they stroll to the fields. The best season to hunt for boars is from November to May. Duck hunting in Italy You can go on a hunting trip in Italy and enjoy hunting wild ducks. You will find ducks in the water. So, the best

Hunting With Dogs: Training & Safety Tips Hunting with your dog is an exhilarating way to experience outdoor life with your furred friend. Dogs have been hunting with humans for millennia. Many hunting breeds were actually developed specifically to find, flush out, or retrieve game. But that doesn’t mean that your dog will automatically know what to do on a hunt. Before you head out in search of game with your canine companion, you’ll need to train your dog. Aside from helping you find and retrieve the quarry you’re after, dogs also must become used to loud sounds like gunshots. You’ll also need to bring along the proper hunting gear necessary to keep your dog safe and satisfied in the field. Get Your Dog Used To Gunshots Gunshots are loud and can spook your dog into running off in the middle of a hunt. That’s why gun training is so important. Hardest Deer to Hunt Every hunter loves to boast about their stories on how hard hunting their buck was. But are those really that difficult? Today we will be talking about the hardest deer to hunt out there in the wilderness. When it comes to hunting, it is not just about finding the animal. This journey involves a lot of other challenges like facing bitter mountain winds, climbing over boulders. Such hunts are enough for reducing even those with reasonable fitness to a broken-hearted, weak-kneed puddle if the hunter is not aware of the challenges that come when hunting the hardest animals. Coues Deer The big deal for hunting Coues deer is to pursue them in the rough region where they thrive. These slight gray whitetail bucks rarely grow more than 130 in of antler, however, they are adept at disappearing into the cover. They use cactus vegetation and a scant thorn in the desert to stay hidden. Another challenging part about hunting this deer is they don’t offer large targets and al

The issue of feral pigs in California Pigs don't naturally exist in North America. These animals were introduced by explorers as a food source. Several hundreds of years later, they have become a major problem for ecosystems across the United States. Similar to the feral horse issue facing the western United States, California finds itself needing to take action or face seemingly exponential financial losses in crops, property damage, and dwindling populations of native ground-nesting birds. Currently, pigs can be hunted in the Golden State as a game species. The cost of hunting pigs in California will run residents $25.10 for the tag and $52.66 for the annual big game hunting license. For nonresidents, the tag cost is $84.50 and $183.60 for the license. During the 2020 – 2021 feral pig season, 53,923 tags were sold with 1,000 of those being nonresident tags, representing an overall increase of 13.5% compared to the year previous. With only 3,950 animals successfully harvested, there

Trophy Universal: Urial Ovis aries (lat.) is a species of mammal from the genus 🐏 rams, subfamily Capidae, family Bovidae. ℹ️ An interesting combination of genetic traits could classify urials as both OVIS and Caprinae. However, if we look at the species of trophy animals that make up the rating tables of various hunting clubs, such as KGO, SCI, GSCO, it follows that a urial trophy can only close a position in the OVIS category - rams. ❗️Urials are in the "vulnerable species" category, so many countries have begun to strengthen the populations of these animals, which are becoming rare. Hunting tourism has become one of the supports for countries in which the urial is an official hunting species. A limited number of licenses are issued for shooting, and good deductions from officially conducted hunts are returned to the economy of the regions where they live and sponsor environmental activities. We can safely say that all hunters who go hunting for urial in Iran, Pakistan, Uzbekist

Quail Hunting in Utah Do You Hunt Western Quail? Population Estimates, Where to Hunt Utah’s quail hunt opened Nov. 3. The number of Gambel’s quail has dipped a bit this year, but decent numbers of birds should still be available. You can hunt both Gambel’s and California quail until Dec. 31. (Utah is also home to a small population of scaled quail, but hunting for them is not allowed.) Early Season Hunting Conditions Depending on where you hunt and exactly when you’re in the field, early-season hunting can be brutal. For example, sitting in a ground blind near an antelope watering hole or putting the stalk on a Western muley can cause you to sweat like you were trying to earn a spot in the NFL combine. You’d think that sitting perched in a tree would offer some relief due to the wind, but that’s not always true either. Hot and humid conditions without any breeze can be just as tough 15 feet up. Traditional cotton shirts or blue jeans don’t work well in these situations because they don’t breathe well or wick your sweat away. As a result, your clothes just stay wet and eventually start to stink. Not ideal for hunting, especially if you’re on a multi-day trip out west. At the same time, some southern or western hunts may take you through some challenging terrain, where briars, thorns, and other vegetation tears at your hunting clothes. That means your lightweight hunt

Should endangered wild birds be hunted for sport? It sounds like an odd question to be asking in 2023, in the midst of a biodiversity crisis. Yet, at a time when many avian species in the UK are under threat of regional extinction, government data reveals falconers are permitted to hunt rare songbirds. The data, released this week by government watchdog Natural England, has caused concern among environmentalists. What is falconry and how is it regulated in the UK? Falconry involves hunting wild animals in their natural habitat using a trained bird of prey. There are reportedly around 25,000 falconers in the UK. The sport itself dates back hundreds of years, and it has seen a resurgence in recent times. While it remains legal throughout Britain, many outside the hobby are u

IT'S NO SECRET that I'm addicted to studying and sharing the rich history of American archery and bowhunting. Today I'm focusing on Roy Case (1888-1986), rightfully known as "The Father of Wisconsin Bowhunting" and the man widely credited with coining the term "bowhunter." He's also recognized as the first-ever licensed archer to tag a deer during any state's firearms season. Archery history was made December 6, 1930, when Case arrowed a spike buck in Vilas County, Wisconsin. At that time, he was shooting a longbow and wood arrows equipped with steel broadheads of his own design -- the Case Kiska hunting head, which he made and sold nationwide between the 1920s and 1950s. He also wrote and published stories about his various archery hunts in "Ye Sylvan Archer" magazine. Also noteworthy is the fact Case worked to establish America's first bow-only deer season in his home state (1934). His work with hunting heads helped establish modern day legal broadhead standards that are still in

Sunshine Coast Hunting Calendar: When the Bushland Awakens - Deer, Duck and Coastal Game Timings Hunting Regulations & Seasonal Framework in the Sunshine Coast The Sunshine Coast region operates under Queensland's strict hunting regulations with distinct seasonal variations. Deer hunting (primarily red deer and fallow deer) is permitted year-round on private properties with landowner consent, while duck season follows statewide dates (typically March to June, subject to annual surveys). Feral pigs, foxes, and rabbits can be hunted throughout the year. The coastal subtropical climate creates unique hunting conditions - summer humidity reduces activity, while winter months (June-August) offer optimal conditions. Unlike inland regions, coastal hunting areas are limited by urban expansion and national park boundaries. Recent reforms include mandatory firearm safety courses for first-time license applicants and tighter restrictions near residential zones. Peak Hunting Windows & Game Beha

EUROPEAN HUNT The European Hunt is the perfect fit for those looking for a unique and challenging pheasant hunting experience. It also provides an alternative for those not able to field hunt. The course is set near the top of small hill in the midst of a pasture. The hunt is comprised of 16 shooters positioned at eight blinds. The blinds are ~60 yards apart and encircle a concealed tower from which pheasants are released. There are two shooters at each blind, safely separated by hay bales. Cub Creek Hunting guides and guide dogs are positioned behind the blinds, ready to retrieve each harvested bird. Large evergreens dominate the landscape, making each shot unpredictable and unique. Hunters rotate through each station twice, ensuring an abundance of shooting from all directions. A beverage break during the middle of the hunt allows hunters to trade stories and prepare for the final round. A hearty meal is served at noon prior to the hunt. Enjoy desserts and beverages afterwards whi
