A turning point in the development of hunting in Estonia was the adoption of the Hunting Act in 1934. Hunting organizations were constantly appearing and in 1967 the Estonian Hunters' Union was formed, whose members are now the majority of Estonian hunters who take care of game and hunt in about 85% of Estonian hunting grounds. 2100 kilometers in three days, a couple late nights and busy talking to people and giving presentations at the Parkland Outdoor Show & Expo could wear a person out but the energy at this show kept us so energized. It was really humbling talking to people there that said they'd driven all the way from Manitoba or distant locations in Saskatchewan just to meet us. The only downside to to the show was that virtually everyone that we chatted with had a picture of a bigger deer on their phone than TJ has ever taken ;) It was pretty cool spending time with several of the top TV show hosts and outdoor personalities in Canada. We work in a pretty amazing industry with a bunch of amazing people. Sharing the stage with them at the Royal Rumble was pretty entertaining. A 55 inch tall one with a Mallard head would be perfect for me . The two tall ones I have to use have a carving near the top . I carved the outline of a coyote in one and I bought one on the internet that has a terrible eagles head. I use it but not when I go out. I will try and redo it. Dozens of drunk grizzlies hit by trains for decades Drunk grizzly bears have been hit by trains near Glacier National Park in Montana for decades. Spilled grain mixed with moisture from snow and rain equal the perfect concoction to both lure bears and dull their senses. This unfortunate equation means that the bears are too slow to outrun the trains heading their way. Fatalities linked to the fermented grain have been tallied since 1980 with a total of 63 grizzly bears killed along the rail line that stretches over Marias Pass and the Great Bear Wilderness, according to the Cowboy State Daily. This year, three have been killed so far, and, in 2019, which was the worst year on record, eight grizzlies were killed by trains. HOLY ELK! Look what we found at the Kilkenny Castle in Ireland. They are REAL antlers from a prehistoric Irish elk! AND (according to our guide) they are mounted on the wall at their actual height! They are the largest deer that ever lived, and went extinct between 8,000 and 6,000 years ago. They earned the name Irish elk because so many bodies were preserved in Irish peat bogs. These massive ungulates weighed between weighed 990-1,520 pounds and stood as tall as an Alaskan moose at 6 feet 11 inches at the shoulders! The size of their antlers was utterly staggering. In fact, that is very likely the cause of their extinction. Many agree that their huge antler size may have contributed to a mineral deficiency which ultimately killed the animal off. There's magic in the air. The first frosts of the year greet us each morning, and the tops of the highest peaks are dusted with snow. The colours are changing, and the Yukon's landscape is something to behold. It's moose hunting season, and I'm excited. What you'll see in these images is how tall the buckbrush in the valley is. You will have a few challenges if you want to stand in here and hunt moose. If you're lucky, the brush will make it impossible to see any bulls or cows further than a few hundred yards. Taking a shot? It's almost impossible unless the bull comes in hot to your call. I much prefer getting up on the hillsides around the valley where I can call effectively and glass massive areas. The sinkhole in Leye County, in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is 630 feet deep and home to primitive trees that are growing as tall as 131 feet, the Xinhua news agency reported.
